Shilo Suites in Newport is one of the very best vacation stays we've ever had. The views of the ocean are awe inspiring, the rooms always clean and inviting and the staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect every single time we stay. The Hotel is run down. Smelled of cigarett smoke in the hallway. Swimming Pool was very hot however, we did like that it was only 3ft deep for safety of our 6 and 8 year olds. No Hot Tub! No Showers in the pool room! Yuck! The beds are now being made with an extra sheet on top to REPLACE... more

Definitely dated and tattered. No decks, just a casement window that opened 4 inches. Non adjustable shower head like a hose. Nice people, but needs a complete teardown and rebuild. Free wifi didn't work with my pc, no paper even though they claim such. Mattresses extra firm. Smelled like they just sprayed for bedbugs. more

We reserved two nites in a 2 bedroom suite, because of reviews on this site. Upon opening the door we were horrified by the condition of the room. The service and accomadations were fantastic. Staff was great and when we arrived they all made us feel very special. I have never been treated so well as I was here. I will always remember my stay and WILL be back! Cami and Susan are the BEST!!!!!!!!! more
