My husband decided on an impromptu vacation to Oregon and did not want to stay in Portland (as we are not really big city folks). After much searching on the internet and reading reviews, I came across the Lions Gate Inn in Newberg ... and it was/is a great place to stay and start off our adventures in Oregon. Not... More

We loved our 3 day stay at the Lion's Gate Inn. Don't be put off by the neighborhood. The Inn is walking distance to downtown and some great restaurants. The breakfasts every morning were delicious. Our hosts provided great wine tasting recommendations with several free tasting vouchers. We would recommend this Inn to our friends and definitely stay there again... More

If you appreciate good design you will love this 1912 Craftsman home, with its gorgeous woodwork, original beveled glass, lighting fixtures and built-in cabinets. The decor is period appropriate and just right. The porch was a wonderful place to relax after a day of sightseeing, especially with a glass of local wine and snacks provided daily. The room was very... More

We really enjoyed our two-night stay at the Lions Gate last week. We stayed in the Summer room, which was small, but had a large bathroom and plenty of room for two people. Though the rooms are small, the common areas, porch and yard are large, so there are plenty of places to hang out. And everything is tastefully decorated.... More

We stayed 3 nights at Lions Gate while visiting the Willamette Valley. This historic Inn is just gorgeous with large common rooms and spacious guest rooms, all beautifully and artfully decorated with fireplaces. We stayed in the Winter Suite, but noticed all rooms had large modern bathrooms. The bed, pillows and linens were supremely comfy and our room was very... More

This was our fourth stay at the Lions Gate Inn. It was fantastic as it was on the other three visits. The room was comfortable and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent! The weekend chef made a special effort to please us. We were warmly greeted by the weekend host. We enjoy staying at the Lions Gate because of the personal... More

We stayed here with several other couples. The home is lovely - nicely restored and furnished. We stayed in the Summer room. Comfortable bed and great 2 head shower. The hospitality was gracious- some wine and snacks in the afternoon to be enjoyed in the quiet backyard. The breakfast was very good, and the staff was wonderful in accomodating a... More

We had a destination wedding in Willamette Valley and chose to spend several days at Lions Gate Inn, starting the day before our wedding. Susan was very warm and welcoming and so incredibly accommodating. We were in the Winter room, which doesn't have great lighting for hair and make-up so Susan offered us use of another room for the afternoon... More

The Inn is located in a great spot, very close driving distances to all of Willamette Valley Vineyards. They have a nice tasting pass at several of the wineries that allow you to state for no cost, pretty decent choices of wine. Susan is very welcoming and helpful with area restaurants and is willing to go the extra mile to... More

This inn is located in a neighborhood that looked a bit run down in some parts, which was a little strange. We were greeted by one of the inn keepers that seemed to be a bit rushed to show us around so that she could leave. We quickly made ourselves at home with complimentary wine, cheese, crackers and grapes. The... More
