We stayed at Memaloose May 1-6. It is real clear (online and off) that there are train tracks on the river side of the park and Hwy 84 on the other side. Our spot was by Hwy 84 and yes there is traffic noise, but you get used to it after awhile and the same with the trains going by.... More

After a $42 dollar RV night across the river in Sun Lake Washington state park, this far nicer park was remarkable at $28. Very treesy and grassy. Ranger talks seasonal in evening. The Columbia River rolling past, is always a reason to sit and observe from various easy access points around the popular park. Memaloose Island (now in the river)... More

Heading to the Oregon Coast, late evening check in. Clean, semi private spots. Hwy on one side, railroad on the other and the Columbia River on the other side. Not a quiet spot, but if you're a train buff...it's the bomb. And it's a quick jump to head out the next day:-)

We purchased a motorhome this year and have been checking out state park campgrounds in our area. This one is only a little over an hour away, so we thought we'd try it. It was nice, but there isn't a huge amount to do if you don't have a car. The campground is inbetween I-84 and the Columbia River, so... More

We stayed here for a week in our travel trailer and found the park well positioned. Although other reviews note the train as an impact, we did not. We did note the freeway traffic noise but it is evident that some sites are impacted more than we were. This park is centrally located and we found it convenient for all... More

We were able to reserve one of the spaces overlooking the Columbia River. This afforded us an absolutely beautiful view of the Columbia Gorge and all it had to offer. Yes, there was a train track downhill from us but frankly, the noise was not bothersome. We also heard very little freeway noise. We stayed 4 nights here and took... More

Unfortunately we stayed two nights (because we booked it online)in Memaloose State Park. It is situated between Hwy 84 and a railroad track. Also there is no access to the Columbia River. It is very noisy. The website and advertising for this park does not readily state this. It is very disappointing. It's like the state of Oregon said "Hey,... More

We just got home after spending two nights at Memaloose State Park. We we camping in a trailer. We booked late, so we had to put up with a site next to, but below, the freeway (but surprisingly didn't hear much traffic). The better sites are on the down-slopes towards the Columbia River. There are great views of the Columbia... More
