Very welcomîng owners and very peaceful place amont the vineyards. The restaurant of the légendaire hotel ORegon in McMinnville is ten minutes away from the house. Unfortunately the house ´ s decoration is a bit old fashioned . + breakfast is late and must be taken with the other guests, which is not always what you want when you.re on... More

Spent one night here with my wife for our anniversary in June. We had reserved a different B&B in Carlton, but we did not stay there because of a hot water problem. I called the Joseph Mattey House in the late afternoon, and they had a room for us. What a good decision; beautiful old home in the vineyard, with... More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this B&B, during the North Willamette Wine Trail Weekend. It was off the beaten path, just outside of McMinnville (one of our favorite OR towns). We stayed in the Pinot Room, and we highly recommend it...spacious, private bath and located in the back corner of the house. The owners, Jack & Denise... More

We went for a quick weekend trip to the Willamette Valley. Found this B&B here at TripAdvisor. The reservation process was fairly quick (over the phone) and my wife spoke with Jack. They sent lots of information about the area, including good suggestions for dinner. On arrival, the house looks like the TripAdvisor's ones. No Photoshop, it is stunning and... More

Our stay here was fantastic thanks to our hosts Denise and Jack, a charming couple with plenty of stories of their world travels. Their knowledge of the area was huge and they gave good advice regarding restaurants and wineries to visit, along with other attractions. The house is set in beautiful grounds with a lovely deck for enjoying the warm evenings.... How often do you get to spend a few days in the wine country in a historic Victorian home tenderly cared for by a charming British couple who've lived all over the U.S.? Mattey house was built by a orphan from the U.K. over a hundred years ago. It faces a charming vineyard overseen by the original owner's enormous beech... More

The Mattey House was the perfect introduction to McMinnville! The house is lovely and the grounds are gorgeous. Jack and Denise are fantastic hosts, with much local knowledge they are happy to share. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious! We would recommend this Inn to anyone visiting the McMinnville area!

This B and B is a little off the beaten track - around four miles out of McMinnville and so walking to dinner is not really possible. It is an old farmhouse that overlooks a small vineyard. Jack and Denise are the ever-present, friendly, knowledgable and chatty hosts. They knew a lot about the area, the wineries, the monasteries, the... More

We stayed at The Mattey House for 2 nights in the Pinot Noir Room. Jack and Denise are wonderful hosts - very friendly and extremely interesting. We loved hearing their stories - especially those concerning "Never assume someone does not speak your language". We did wine tasting in the Willamette Vally - Denise gave us coupons for tastings and made... More
