On our family road trip, we booked this hotel for the four us - two parents and two adult offspring. We were charmed by the turn of the century property and ambiance. The owners have worked at the charm of the property but charm can only do so far. First of all, checking is a challenge as they do not... More

Nice place for the money. Comfortable bed, friendly, accommodating front desk service (including getting our boarding passes for us). They have 3 bars, one on the roof with a good view of the entire area. Reasonable prices. We had to share a bathroom with couple next door but they were cool. Nice being close to some good wine tasting rooms... More

OK this our first stay at a McMenamins hotel and its hard to separate the hotel from the whole experience. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great and the one obvious modern looking addition was the air conditioner that was as quiet as the top hotels we have ever stayed in. The roof top bar on a hot... More

We booked for the New Years Eve Party and were underwhelmed with the party; but the accommodations were very acceptable. This is my second stay at the McMenamins and though the room was very seemly and charming, sharing the private bathroom was not as appealing as I remembered it being. Our room was small and lacked proper storage, but the... More

I have stayed at every McMenamin's Hotel. Most of them multiple times, so I know what to expect. This one isn't my favorite, but downtown McMinnville is a fun place to walk around. I booked early to get a room with a private bath. Our room was small and the door opened into the bed. The bathroom was almost bigger... More

This hotel is definitely quaint, with old late 19th and early 20th century rooms, I think most having added bathrooms. Each room is different, and the walls of the rooms and halls are festooned with a variety of artwork. There is an elevator to use, which is great for taking bags up, but the stairs are good exercise and allow... More

If you visit here you must go to the rooftop and enjoy a beverage. Nice views and string lighting is very romantic. Have eaten at different locations and this is definitely the best. The service was excellent and helpful... we have eaten at several Mcmenamins and never disappointed but wanted to try another local restaurant and we were directed to... More

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Oregon in MacMinnville for a few days last summer on our way down to Crater Lake National Park. We had read about the hotels owned by the McMenamin brothers in our Moon Guide. The hotel Oregon did not disappoint. It is located in an wonderful old restored brick building, the corridors are... Once again, a stay at one of McMenamin's hotels is an adventure. They manage to take an old building, renovate it without removing its character, and come up with a winning accommodation - every time. The rooms are all very unique and named after actual people connected with the property from close to 100 years ago. Some of the rooms... More

The rooms are very cool. One is supposed to be haunted but not the one I had. Enjoyed the visit and the roof top bar is great. Well positioned in the center of McMinnville and all you would expect from a Wild West Hotel. Creaky floorboards and no TVs. Just what you need. Very enjoyable.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
On McMinnville's charming, old main street, Hotel Oregon strikes an inviting pose - as it has since 1905. Once home to a restaurant and lounge, banquet hall, Greyhound bus depot, Western Union, soda fountain and beauty parlor, the handsome four-story building we call Hotel Oregon is a delightful destination in the heart of Oregon's wine country.Warm lighting in the first floor pub, cozy tables and an impressive 40-foot long back bar invite close conversation over the glint of a fresh pint or maybe a game of shuffle board in the Paragon room. Artwork and wall hangings inspire thoughts of the past and a trip to the subterranean bistro-style Cellar Bar or magnificent Rooftop Bar (with its breathtaking 360-degree view of the region) are a must for any visitor to the hotel. ... more   less
