Perfect for my wanderlust fly fishing trips! Small, quaint and friendly motel in Maupin is ideal for your outdoor adventure. It is clean and convenient for enjoying the Deschutes River area. I recommend the Deschutes Motel for your next Maupin trip and adventures on the Deschutes River.

Clean room, comfortable bed, good shower, peaceful, friendly owners, charming staff, always sleep amazing there, very good value. Perfect for me. I go there about once a month on average, year round. I love it.

As "fly fishing people", we make the drive from Portland several times during the course of the year, and have since 1987. While we have seen changes in ownership over the years, one thing has ALWAYS remained the same. Friendly service. The rooms are always clean, and we always feel safe. Obviously in all those years we have tried other... More

Rooms are clean, convenient (love that they have fridge and microwave) with comfy beds and the owners are knowledgable about the area and hospitable. Great value ! Will visit again for sure. The town is nice too as long as you go partake before everything closes shop in the early evenings.

I'm puzzled by the very positive reviews for this motel. It was the most over-priced motel of my entire two-month bicycle trip of the western states. I was quoted $85 for a room so small you could barely turn around. I opted to upgrade to the "family suite" for $125, which consisted of two small bedrooms. The bathroom had a... More

Hello 628ann3, I would like to take this opportunity to share that we've taken your review as great feedback. After 5 years of our "Ma & Pa" operation in this small town (population 400), we've come to understand that absolutely by the end of our high season, we are tired and worn out, resulting from the “destination” type of treatment... I come to Maupin for the steelhead fishing, just an overnight trip, but I have gotten in the habit of staying at the Deschutes Motel because it's really the best place to stay in the area. The friendly staff was very helpful and accomodating, and upgraded my room when they really did not have to. The queen suite is very... More

It met our needs. Close to fishing and the rooms were nice, quiet, clean. Staff was really friendly. We will always stay here in the future. We took a drive down a number of roads and had a excellent time. Got to know some of the locals. Very laid back atmosphere.

Stayed the night before a fishing trip so was up early but the few hours sleep I had was very restful. The renovated rooms are super clean with small but very functional bathrooms. The facilities included microwave, fridge, TV and coffee machine. The bed was comfortable. Very friendly staff, helpful both over the phone when booking and upon arrival. Would... More

Stayed here the night before a rafting trip that departed from Maupin the next morning. We were late arriving - nearly 10 p.m., but service was kind and understanding. Also gave great recommendations for breakfast options the next morning. We had a queen suite - two queen beds in separate rooms, plus a bathroom. Very simple, old-school motel but sparkling... More

This was an exceptional find in the middle of nowhere! This is the kind of motel that I love to find especially when it is fixed up like it was. The hotel sits at the top of a hill on the edge of the little town of Maupin, OR a river rafting & fishing town of a few hundred people.... More
