A friend and I stayed there 2 nights mid September. I was in charge of finding the hotel. We didn't want to spend more than 60 each a night. All the places I could find on line where much more. The Sunset Surf even has a coupon on their website. For 2 beds and a kitchenette we paid with tax... more

I don’t know how everyone raves about this motel, other than the Location. Yes, it is the only motel, other than 2 rooms at Ocean Inn that provide ocean front viewing in all of Manzanita, other than rental homes. However, my family has been coming here for at least 12 years now and it is going to pot quickly. Never... more

We typically stay at Cannon Beach every year but feel they are out pricing their motels for families so we wanted to try something different. We had a lower level room which smelled clean upon entering. Yes, the motel is dated and the carpet needs a good cleaning. But you can't beat the view and the closeness to Cannon Beach... more

A nice hotel for kids, families, and dogs. The beach is across the street--as in steps away. The town is charming and far less crowded than Cannon Beach or Seaside. The hotel itself is not five star, but it's clean and comes with a fireplace, and small kitchen area. The kitchen area includes dishes, microwave, refrigerator, and small stove. Internet... more

My companion and I love to vacation at quiet scenic Manzanita, and we always stay at the Sunset Surf. We stayed again just this past weekend. The motel is simple and showing its age (e.g. the bathtub is small and the nonslip stickers are wearing off), but everything is clean, the beds are comfortable, the electric fireplace is cosy, and... more

We loved the Motel and our room was very clean and tidy. The staff was mindfull of all are requests and were very polite. The location and proximity to downtown was convienent and the fact that we were right across the street fom the beach was a plus. the view from our room was panoramic and the fireplace added the... more

After reading other reviews we were slightly nervous about how our experience would turn out. We have stayed in Manzanita at rental houses and have seen the Sunset Surf, liked the location and so gave it a try. Even at it's regular rate it would have been worth every penny, with the winter time discount it felt like a steal.... more

Myself, my wife and a friend stayed for in what must of been the last gorgeously sunny day of December. We wanted somewhere out of the way and far removed from the tourist crowd. We were met by very friendly staff and allowed an early book in. We picked one of the newer rooms in the Budd building (203) The... more

We stayed here one night in October, in an upstairs room in one of the "newer" units on the corner. The motel is just a few blocks from downtown Manzanita. The friendly and helpful clerk suggested the San Dune Pub for dinner, which turned out to be an excellent place to eat. There is a little street in front of... more

Never have been treated so rudely by booking staff anywhere else, basically calling me a liar. When proven error was theirs, pathetically apologized. Never staying there again. Cleanliness acceptable. more
