When I stay in Lincoln City there are pretty much 2 kinds of properties directly on the beach, below average and above average with a really high price. The Chinook Winds hotel (formally the Shilo Inn Lincoln City) is a below average hotel with an above average rate. My girlfriend and I arrived early on a Saturday morning, the staff... more

The SINGLE WORST Hotel I've Ever Stayed In!! We booked a room as part of a package deal with a Leanne Womack Concert. I was mortified when I walked in the room...I could see the ocean alright....thru the holes eaten thru the corner of the door frame!!!...The carpet was horribly stained, the wall-paper was falling off....and the ceiling was full... more

A friend booked the stay for myself and others who were doing contract work. It was close to the job, and he thought it would be fun, and it was, but it wasn't the hotel I expected. The building was old and seemed to barely be maintained, a few staff members seemed good, the rest seemed to be there for... more

What a disappointment. Our room smelled, the bed had a bow in the middle. Not at all what you would expect for the money and to be connected with a casino. Very disappointing, would not recommend. more

We chanced apon this casino on our way to Brookings, Oregon from Alaska. Decided to stop and play for a day. Checked in with our dog, so far so good.... Then we got to the room miserable beds, peeling paint on the outside of the building, stained carpet. In general, pretty dumpy. Although we got a discount on the room... more

Rooms are a little overpriced but the beach experience is always what sells. With a little advance notice, it is possible to find better quality in the area. Beware of the tourist trap that is the casino. This organization is clever about keeping reviews off the internet..they obviously pay a lot of money to keep their reviews from showing up.... more

My best friend and I went down for the night, as a girls night out. We arrived and was able to check in immediately which was a good thing. But once we got in our room and started checking it out we were a bit disappointed for the money we were paying $144.00 for the suite the night. The small... more

We stayed in the building across the lot from the pool. The ocean view was the nicest thing there. The rooms were small, in need of updating badly, and needed minor repairs and cosmetic work. The staff when we checked in was nice but very slow. Our rooms weren't ready yet and they couldn't give us a definate time when... more

We were upgraded to a suite because of an error on our part. The staff was extremely friendly. Our suite was very nice, the view of the ocean from the our balcony was awesome. We got our room for $69 a night because I looked online for the resort’s specials. If you sign up for the Winners Circle you get... more

Sometimes you will put up with alot just to be right on the beach for an ocean view. Chinook Winds isn't the worst property at the beach but it isn't the best either. The check-in policy is downright weird. If the room type you booked is ready when you arrived, you can check in. If it isn't, they really cannot... more
