The biggest problem we had with this hotel was noise. Firstly there were a group of young people outside laughing and talking loudly at 10pm. Fortunately they did get quieter soon after that and I appreciate that you can't blame the owners of this establishment for the behaviour of some of the guests who stay here but the paper thin... We are truly sorry about the bad experience with a loud neighbor and would of loved to helped mitigate that problem. The owner is often working in the gas station and in the office if not. The station attendant can also help with any concerns at anytime and after the station closes the owners our onsite all night long as... More

We stopped in at the Highlander last week on our way out to go deer hunting. Not having been there in quite a long time I wasn't sure what to expect. Not much had changed. Having traveled a bit it's always comforting to hit a small, old school Motel where you can cook on your tailgate if you want too.... More

We picked this motel based on location and it's website. First we had difficulty finding it. Look for the small sign on the westside of the highway next to the Shell Station. The gas station attendant checked us in at the gas station instead of the office, the office appears to be a trailer next to the hotel. I liked... More

I booked this motel because of the positive reviews found online. I also liked the personal family approach they took with their website. I agree with other reviews about the place being clean although a bit run down. The price was great and the Wi-Fi worked great. What I wasn't super impressed by was this: I wasn't expecting to pick... More

This was the perfect base for house hunting. Very clean, owner and staff were gracious, and accommodating. The big plus for me was that they allowed my well behaved large dog. Mini fridge and microwave were a plus. No complaints. I would recommend this motel for anyone that wants an inexpensive, comfortable, clean place to stay in La Pine.

My wife and I stayed here 2 nights,so we could explore Crater Lake a couple days. And although it's located on busy USR 97,which boasts a lot of truck traffic,we had no trouble sleeping. The owners were very nice and helpful.Micowave, fridge helped save money on food, clean beds, reasonable price(62.00),If you need a clean place to stop, check this place out.We liked it and would... The Highlander Motel is a small, independent motel that is nothing spectacular. It's an older motel, but clean on the inside and neat rooms with a full kitchen. No amenities to speak of, though. There was a hair dryer, but no shampoo, conditioner, etc. It was a very convenient spot for us to stop on our visit to the Mt. Hood/Hood... More

Owners couldn't do enough to help. Rooms were modern and spotless. On a busy road but that was convenient for us travelling in the 97, but it was quiet during the night. Would highly recommend a stay if you're passing through.

Traveling at a time when resorts were all full in the Cascades, this place was fine. For $65 we had a full kitchen and two good queen beds in a clean, solid room. Right on Hwy 97 but quiet inside. Gas and restaurants within a block.
