We stayed in the Wren cottage. "Rustic"? Sure, I'll give it that, but when you're charging 135.00 a night, you expect, no rust in the kitchen sink. No rust in the bathroom sink. Running water, and a boat dock that doesn't look like you're about to fall into the depths of the lake. One staff member was super nice and... More

I really don't know what some folks are expecting when they go to Paulina Lake Lodge. If you are expecting Sun River, Mt. Bachelor or Black Butte then you are going to be disappointed. You need to know that this is a National Forest Service property located in the scenic outback of Central Oregon. It is what it is and... More

We stayed in the Oriole cabin right on the lake shore. Great view and wildlife. We stayed in mid September, so the weather was starting to turn and standard snow gear was required, even inside. The reviews warned me that this might be an adventure. The very RUSTIC log cabin was built in 1930 and a delight to stay in.... More

This place used to be Awsome in every way. All eight of us agree never to spend money there again!! Oh we will go see the peak and surrounding views. But save your self some money and aggravation, don't waist your time or money at the so called Lodge. Even the Pontoon was a wreck. Filthy dirty, paid for a... More

Rented a cabin without doing our research. 4 people staying for a mid week trip. Room smelled clean and was ready early so that was good. There was a briquette BBQ on a pipe that was pretty much useless. The kitchen had very few usable items. Our bed linens were disgusting! Had to sleep on top of the blanket as... More

Like another reviewer here, I messed up and booked this place without reading the reviews first. Huge mistake. The location is wonderful, but this place is a running sore on the face of a beautiful area. Read all of the negative reviews here. They are all true. All I can add is that it's still true as of August 2013.... More

Love this whole area. Especially the Obsidian Flow and sunset on Paulina Peak. The resort at Paulina Lake is rustic but maintained. And basic interior improvements have definitely been undertaken recently, so the cabin "Canary" was much nicer inside than its horrid exterior. Location wise you are simply stuck with mosquitoes and they are relentless at sunset. Next time we'll... More

I am originally from Bend area so I may be more optimistic then the non locals :) I enjoyed staying here. The cabin is what I expected; fire stove for heating and you have to chop your own wood, rustic decor, good furniture, good working fridge and stove/oven, comfy beds and close to the lake. It was nice to be... More

While visiting the surrounding areas we decided to stop here for lunch. I am truly disappointed in how horrible the meal was because the location of this restaurant is truly convenient and the place was beautiful. I was also very happy that they allowed us to sit out in the deck with our dogs. However, the two lunches we had... More

We tried eating at the lodge when visiting the Paulina lake resort. We had no idea what to expect but the lunch was pretty good. We all enjoyed the varied soups -- corn with bacon and roasted red pepper. Our food for a family of 4 came to $60.00 not cheap but the food was good and there aren't many... More
