This is an incredible place. We only stayed a night but it felt like much longer in a sense which might have been influenced by the fact that one is truly stepping back in time (over a century) at this resort. The hosts are gracious and friendly. Oh, and if you like piping hot, pristine, healing, mineral water soaking in... More

Thank goodness for the Manuel family and their dedication to this historic property! Without their dedication, an important piece of Oregon's history would have been lost. In the past 10 years, the family invested their own money and sweat equity to bring back the hotel and out buildings back to life. Yes, there is more to do, but we all... More

Incredible restoration efforts have been made to the building, but it is not yet ready for visitors/guests. I recommend others visit the foundry, the grounds, the museum and the fire truck display, but avoid the B & B.

I love everything about this historic jewel in Eastern Oregon. The Manuel family runs the hotel, under the enthusiastic and talented hand of their lovely matriarch, Lee. Make a point of asking her about the hotel's history, their renovation process, and the beautiful region their family calls home. Her positive energy and storytelling ability adds to the hotel's charm. The... More

This place is a historical Oasis. The owners and staff are over the top, extremely friendly made me fell like family. They have healing natural hot springs which was a blessing for me, because I got stranded in La Grande on my way back form a Young Life camp where I had to leave early when I got really sick.... Our son was on his way home from a Young Life summer camp in western Oregon, he was a counselor but had fell ill and headed home so as not to get anyone else sick. He got to La Grande and called to say that the freeway was at a dead stop. After a little research we discovered that the... More

This is our second stay, and my third visit. This time, we chose to spend 2 nights, and visit the spa on our full day. Check-in was smooth and professional, and the staff was entirely helpful, present, attentive, and responsive during our stay. We again stayed in the Carlton Suite, as it is on the main floor. The first night... More

To preface this, understand were were not expecting a 5 star hotel. We live in a 100 year old farmhouse we remodeled, so we know quite a bit about the renovation process. We also appreciated the uniquely decorated rooms featured on the website. The old plumbing fixtures, etc. were expected, we love restored vintage. Totally on board with that. As... More

Our bed and breakfast experience was great, we'll be back! The price included an art print by David Manuel, breakfast, a 2-room suite, a tour of the museum, a history film, a cinema film, a prix fixe meal in La Grande at Ten Depot, and a private soak in the mineral waters. Yes, there are birds on the property, ducks,... More
