The lodge was in excellent condition. The rooms were clean and each had its own bathroom. I was there with a group and we had access to the whole lodge including a well-appointed kitchen. It was very quiet and peaceful in the middle of woods. The landlady was a fount of information about the area and about dog sledding. Although... More

We all fell in love with Crystalwood Lodge and its owner, Liz. Sixteen of us stayed for 3 days. There was plenty of room. My son-in-law is a chef and he loved the kitchen. He made carnitas and Liz joined us with lots of stories about the area and her race in the Iditarod. Canoes and row boats took us... More

My husband booked our stay online, and the site crashed in the middle of the process. He re-started, and we thought we had our reservation all good to go. Once we got there, we were informed that we were the only guests, and Liz showed us our room and gave us its key. That was pretty much our interaction with... More

Liz gave a great orientation to the wood frame and wood floored lodge and it's a nice, quaint and querky living space. The kitchen is big and cook-it-and clean-it-yourself, so bring all you need to cook and bake because there are really no nearby markets, and note that some folks don't clean pots/pans as well as others. The king bedroom... More

The house and rooms are spotless, pleasant, and serviceable. We brought our dog and appreciated that multiple sheets and towels were available to protect the furniture in our room. There are multiple, discreet places to tie up your dog when venturing into dogless zones of the house which were much appreciated. The location is pretty unique: close to Crater Lake... More

My boyfriend and I took a road trip to Oregon to visit Crater Lake in early July. I was really excited to find a place where we could stay with our dogs and prepare our own food. Crystalwood Lodge was the perfect destination to getaway from the grind of every day life. The owner was welcoming and we had full... More

WE drove from Seattle fora family vacation at Crater Lake with our 2 teens and our corgi dog. We had planned to do some hiking at Crater Lake but National Parks don't allow dogs. Saved by Liz, who took care of our stubborn corgi and gave him a vacation while we had ours. My daughter loved meeting and petting the... More

Worst place we staying in years. Room was damp, cheerless, smelly and bleak. Booked room given to only other guest. Owner besotted with dogs – lots of them. Cut short our stay – clearly a frequent occurrence as she joyfully charged us for 3 night.

I thank Paul G for his comments on his stay, as all guest feedback is incredibly valuable. When he posted this review, I immediately sent him a message asking him if he could remember any of the details (it being nearly a year since he was here) so that I could follow-up and correct anything that was under my control.... We had 18 people, 3 generations - friends from CA, friends & family from OR & one chocolate lab. It was President's Day Weekend and we were seeking snow, Snow didn't come until we were ready to leave :-( The house was spacious, the kitchen well-equipped worked well for all of us and was great to have our own bathrooms!... We only were able to visit for one night, on our way driving up to Washington but this place was great. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the birding or surroundings because of a pretty heavy rainstorm that made hiking/walking rather cold and wet. The lodge is perfect and has everything you need. Fireplace to keep warm, huge kitchen for... More
