If you like history, as we do, you'll appreciate this lodge. But if you lean more towards "upscale" and convenience, this is not the place for you. Granted, we did stay in one of their smaller rooms, but, boy, was it ever tiny! Very little room to even walk around in. The sink was in the bedroom, there was no... More

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Wallowa Lake Lodge. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was their last weekend to be open and there were only a few guests. The bedroom we stayed in was small as one would expect from a 1920's vintage lodge. The bed was comfortable and the lodge was quiet. Nice... More

I booked a 3rd floor balcony room at the lodge expecting to see beautiful lake views and was very disappointed. There is a line of trees long the river that block the view of the lake. Other than that, there is a beautiful large lawn with chairs along the river's edge. Unfortunately we were there late in the summer and... More

This is a carefully restored lodge on Wallowa Lake. We stayed in the Spruce cabin which has the best lakefront view. It has 2 bedrooms, living room and full kitchen. the interior is knotty pine and it was spotless. There is a gas fireplace, although due to the warm weather we didn't use it. From the cabin the lodge itself... More

This lodge is set next to the lake with a beautiful lawn and picnic area. The little community surrounding the lodge is mega-commercialized which really distracts from the calm remote setting of the lodge - but it can be avoided. The plumbing in the rooms was old but sufficient. We slept fine eventhough the mattress/springs swayed like a hammock. We... More

The location of the lodge is great and the staff is friendly and cooperative. On the negative side, our mattress seemed more like a waterbed than a traditional mattress. It should have been discarded years ago. The dinner was wonderful on Monday. Unfortunately they were not open on Tuesday and Wednesday! Other good restaurants are few and far between.

The lodge is comfortable and the atmosphere was really nice. It's an old building, and I stayed in 309/311. The beds are very comfortable. I enjoy old buildings and live in a 100 year old house myself so am very forgiving of old plumbing, etc. Some of my family stayed in the cabins which were nice, pretty standard cabins. The... More

Stayed with a bus group of 38. Room assignments - luggage handling - personal requests - all were taken care of promptly with an extremely friendly staff. Breakfasts were sensational, and the one dinner we had was fine. I heard no complaints regarding rooms, and mine as a single was comfortable and charming with views of the lake. There are... More

We unhappily found ourselves looking for rooms after a recent drive trip to Wallowa Lake turned too wet and cold to camp. They found us 2 rooms on the third floor, with a shared bath. (Housekeeping cabins have a 2-night minimum.) As expected, this is a rustic lodge, with creaky, somewhat uneven floors, fairly thin walls and very basic, somewhat... More

I was planning a trip through Hell's Canyon with some friends and in need of someplace to stay. I called the Lodge and told them my needs and they put together a group of rooms for me. The woman I spoke to even held the reservation while I called my friends to make sure this was what we needed. The... More
