The area is wonderful. We stayed in one of the cabins - not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the service and food in the restaurant were horrible! Do not eat there! Go into town or cook for yourself. We went for dinner. Had a reservation, but it still took them 15 minutes to seat us - even though half... more

Beautiful setting. Lodge restaurant had slow service, mediocre food, and high prices. Recommend traveling to Terminal Gravity brewery/restaurant for really great food and beer. more

Loved the quaint rooms and atmosphere of the lodge. Service was good, staff was very friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Our only complaint is that breakfast is not served on Wednesdays so we had to drive into Joseph. Although it was snowing (in June!) we had a wonderful time and plan to return later in the... more

We found the accomodations adequate for an historic hotel. Beds were very confortable. As in most of these old properties you can hear the folks in the room above (we were on 2nd floor). Our complaint is that they were not serving dinner. Should have been told about this when we reserved our room. Desk clerk claimed the cook hurt... more

Love it or hate it, Wallowa Lake Lodge is what it is. A mountain lodge built in the early 20th century with all the charm and issues of a lodge built in the early 20th century. We arrived on a weeknight in August and were told that the restaurant was closed for a week due to lack of staff. Luckily... more

We should have given more weight to the poor reviews prior to our trip. But, we wanted to splurge and thought a historic hotel in a beautiful setting would be worth the cost despite the complaints by some. There are some pluses: the yard area is beautiful with reading chairs placed in shady locations. And, the housekeepers appear to be... more

We stayed here on the 9th night of our 11 day motorcycle trip. I booked this room after viewing the website and actually was able to view the exact room we stayed in. We had a large comfortable room #305, furnished with period prints and wicker furniture. Our room had a french door with a lovely view of the lake... more

Internet browsers beware! The rooms you see on the lodge's website are much nicer than what you may get. "Large" rooms are small. No Internet Access? We understand the whole "rustic charm" idea, but travelers would really benefit from wireless internet access which should be a cheap investment for the lodge. Restaurant: Overrated and expensive. $32 for halibut dinner, $29... more

We stayed there in the week of 4th of July, which was unseasonably hot. There is no air conditioning, no telephone, no internet and no T.V.! Wonderful! Even numbered rooms in the lodge face the parking lot with no view and the usual noise of cars starting and impolite guests talking loudly in th parking lot. In contrast, the odd... more

HOW DISAPPOINTING!!! My family and I have been vacationing at Wallowa Lake, Oregon for the past several years. We're hooked!! We've always rented different cabins but this time it was just my husband and I who wanted to get away from it all and decided to try the WALLOWA LAKE LODGE. I'd already read another reveiw about this lodge that... more
