One step inside the lobby takes you back in time! The lobby is large and welcoming. The dining room is also nicely appointed. We had dinner & breakfast there during our stay. Both were very good (especially the vanilla cinnamon French toast). The rooms were nice....old, but clean & nice. I would definitely return.

The Wallowa Lake Lodge is a throwback to mountain retreats of times gone by and yet maintains nice comforts and charms for a relaxing getaway. We booked one of the balcony rooms facing the lake and it was well worth it. The views of the lake over the expansive back lawn with the sound of the river flowing by meant... More

This lodge is on the beautiful Wallowa Lake and starting point for hiking or just road walking. The rooms are very clean with firm beds and comfortable sizes. The food is excellent in the dinning room with large breakfast servings and dinner specials and a decent wine list or bring a fine bottle you prefer.. I was away from the... More

The Wallowa Lake Lodge has an old-fashioned feeling. The environment is beautiful with the Wallowa River running in front, then the lake. The lodge itself has a lovely lobby with lots of spaces for sitting quietly to read or just "be". We had two adjoining rooms, one with a queen and the other with twin beds. Because of the lodge's... We stayed in the Spruce cabin for two nights. It is small; only two bedrooms and one bathroom. It is rustic- not fancy but it is clean and has a kitchen and a deck with outdoor seating. We chose the cabin option because my husband and I were traveling with another couple. It was reasonably comfortable although there was only... More

My husband and I just stayed at the Pinecone cabin and it was exactly what we were looking for -rustic character, clean and had the best views of the lake and the amazing mountains surrounding the area. We just wanted a quiet place to relax and this was perfect. We had a beautiful fireplace and all the wood you could... More

My husband and I read in our local newspaper that Wallowa Lake Lodge was having a special Valentine's dinner on February 14th. We decided to go to the dinner then spend the night at the lodge. We had a delightful meal, and slept well that night in a balcony suite in the lodge itself. There is no television, but the... More

If you haven't had a chance to visit the little town of Wallowa yet, you should take the time. Wallowa Lake Lodge is historic and beautiful - but the cabins are even better! Fir cabin is my favorite because it has a view of the lake. The cabins up on top of the hill have decent views as well -... More

We are happy you enjoyed your stay in Fir Cabin! Each of our 8 cabins has its own personality - you mentioned Sugar Cabin as being tiny - did you know we call it the Honeymoon Cabin? It is indeed small, cozy, and the least expensive of the cabins to rent - just the right combination for a newlywed couple!... More

After arrival, we dropped by the main desk to reserve for dinner in the Lodge. Well, I've never heard of a hotel's guests getting poor choices for dinner times: we were relegated to either exceptionally early or exceptionally late. Why wasn't such a complication mentioned when we reserved? Another problem with the Lodge: heavy walkers on the 3rd floor are... More

This is a rustic lodge in a sweet location. Reservations and check-in were smooth. It was kindof fun doing things the "old fashioned" way by having to telephone to book the reservation, actually talking to someone on-site, and being handed are real room key from the cubbies behind the front desk. The historic feeling of the lodge continued with the... More
