If you haven't had a chance to visit the little town of Wallowa yet, you should take the time. Wallowa Lake Lodge is historic and beautiful - but the cabins are even better! Fir cabin is my favorite because it has a view of the lake. The cabins up on top of the hill have decent views as well -... More

We are happy you enjoyed your stay in Fir Cabin! Each of our 8 cabins has its own personality - you mentioned Sugar Cabin as being tiny - did you know we call it the Honeymoon Cabin? It is indeed small, cozy, and the least expensive of the cabins to rent - just the right combination for a newlywed couple!... More

After arrival, we dropped by the main desk to reserve for dinner in the Lodge. Well, I've never heard of a hotel's guests getting poor choices for dinner times: we were relegated to either exceptionally early or exceptionally late. Why wasn't such a complication mentioned when we reserved? Another problem with the Lodge: heavy walkers on the 3rd floor are... More

This is a rustic lodge in a sweet location. Reservations and check-in were smooth. It was kindof fun doing things the "old fashioned" way by having to telephone to book the reservation, actually talking to someone on-site, and being handed are real room key from the cubbies behind the front desk. The historic feeling of the lodge continued with the... More

Having stayed in many historic buildings transformed into hotels, living in the UK, I feel that WLL is resting on its laurels somewhat, pushing the fact that it is an "historic" lodge as a reason for the lack of amenities. No lift, and uneven stairs, meant some problems for me, with arthritis. Especially when I had to make the four-flight... More

This is a lodge opened in 1923 on Wallowa Lake. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of modern luxury hotels, but is quaint, comfortable and totally adequate. No phones, microwaves, or TVs, but that is part of the charm. The room had a comfortable queen bed, lamps for reading, and two chairs. Everything was very clean and the... More

We stayed in one of the cabins near the lodge. The cabin was quite small and dated. The lake views are great but there was not enough outdoor seating in and around the lodge itself. But the interior of the lodge - the lobby area - was charming.

This is a gem of a hotel. Just be fore-warned (and we were when I called to make the reservation) that the rooms on the third floor are very small. The room we had (308) would have been fine for a single person; for two it was a bit cramped (smallish "queen" bed, one armchair, closet-sized bathroom). But the great,... More

We arrived to find out previous guests had not checked out of our room, and it was 4pm. The woman at the desk was helpful and gave us 2 separate rooms with private bathes instead of the double room we were going to share with another couple. The 2 rooms were more expensive, but we did not have to pay... More

My wife and I stayed for the weekend - and had a wonderful time. The property is a little run down, but that also gives it it's character. No tv or phones in the rooms - love it!!! Dinner was good - not great - a little pricey. Breakfast was GREAT - and a bargain. Sitting on the back deck... More

The lodge is a historic lodge with a great old lodge feel. The lobby is rustic and inviting and the location is close to Wallowa Lake. As an older building, you won't find elevators, so 3rd floor rooms can be challenging if you are hauling up a lot of luggage or need to go back to the car to get... More
