This was an interesting place. I think the biggest advantage this place has is that it's the closest relatively nice/acceptable hotel/lodge to Crater Lake. Crater Lake Lodge books up almost over a year in advance so this was the best option next to that. We stayed in one of the "cottages", specifically the Cedar House (see the map I've uploaded).... We have stayed here many times - it is one of our favorite spots in Oregon. The cabins are cozy, on the hillside overlooking the river. For fly fishermen, this is a spot not to be missed. For those looking for a quiet spot in the woods next to a beautiful river, it is perfect. Our meal this trip was... More

The cabin was on the river side, rustic and cozy. However, it had a huge tree in the center of our view of the river. This Inn was noted for its great food and actually has recipe books. The evening special menu, $50 dinner was pathetic. The menu consisted of mushy lima beans, half done carrots, tough beef roast of... More

Brought 27 folks to the Inn as part of a car tour. The riverside cabins are great but splurge for on of the suites! We had an extended happy hour on the deck along the river. They offered a big ice chest with ice to cool our beer and wine. One couple had car trouble and did not make it... More

We've stayed at the Steamboat Inn three times over the past decade, most recently August 18th 2015. The cabins overlook the Umpqua River, are without cell reception (house phone available to guests if needed), wifi mostly in the lobby, no TV. It's perfect for the fly fisherman, but we enjoy the quiet beauty of the place. They serve a family... More

We stayed here as part of a package for a bike tour so we didn't really "choose" to stay here. The "hotel" has different type rooms and are spread out for a 1/2 mile or more. We were staying "up the road and across the highway" from the main hotel property and had no TV, no wi-fi and no cell... More

We were in cabin 9, on a parcel about half a mile from the Steamboat Inn itself. The cabin was very welcoming. There's a bedroom with a king-size bed downstairs and two single beds upstairs. The bathroom has a toilet, a basin and a shower in a plunge bath. There's a fully equipped kitchenette with a coffee machine and coffee.... More

The main reason we chose Steamboat Inn was its website states its owners or manager host the nightly dinner with the entire staff dedicating to the dining pleasure of the inn guests. We enjoy communal dinners at boutique inns, such as Tu Tu Tun Lodge in Gold Beach, where the owners themselves serve as hosts and entertain guests. We checked... More

We stayed in one of the cottages which was a beautiful little hideaway in thick forest. It's very simple - no wifi, no television - but very comfortable and a wonderful escape from the world. Highly recommend doing dinner as the food is wonderful and we hugely enjoyed eating around the communal table with fellow travelers (also, it's a long... More

A hidden gem! Steamboat Inn is amazingly beautiful, set on the Umpqua River. We stopped there for lunch which was fantastic. Marion Berry Cobbler was to die for! The banana bread French toast was fabulous as well as the ham and melted cheese sandwich. The burgers were perfectly cooked and tasty as well. We ate on the enclosed porch overlooking... More
