I love the Dogwood Motel! My buddies and I have stay here every time we come to fish the North Umpqua. Not only is it literally across the street from one of the prettiest rivers in the United States, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and have more than enough space to relax at the end of the day. Norman has... More

The Dogwood was just what we were looking for. My husband wanted to fish and I just wanted to relax. He had a successful day fishing and I was able to walk around the grounds, walk across the street and sit by the beautiful Umpqua River and have a cocktail in the gazebo by the pond that has some of... If your looking to get the full experience of the pristine North Umpqua area, look no further than this Gem. I stay at the dogwood motel every time that i am on the north umpqua river. Yes the hotel is older but a brand new hotel in this sort of place just would not fit the puzzle. Norman is the... More

The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the location is decent. It would be nice to not have a major road between the rooms and the river, but It'll do. The grounds are beautiful (although there is construction going on in the back that was rather disturbing). The only complaint I really have is the condition of the rooms.... More

A vintage gem.Lovely, Cozy, clean and affordable. We watch our budget, so this was just right for us. Small cabin type rooms with a full size frig and coffee maker. There is a nice gazebo and a fish cleaning station. They have a fish pond with big pet Coi fish you can give treats to. My favorite Coi fish is... More

The only problem I had, was leaving! :) Being November, the fishing season and busy summer slows down. That's when I look for good rates and a mini-vacation/respite time. I prefer traveling "off peak" season. This is my new, favorite get-away. Not too far from Roseburg, not too close. "Goldilocks"/ "just right". Huge thanks to the owner ("Norm"), for providing... I had the pleasure of staying at The Dogwood for the first time back in 2001 on a fishing trip. I was very pleasantly surprised by the overall comfort and affordability of the Motel. The grounds are beaitifully kept and you can't beat an evening in the gazebo with your favorite beverage while watching the Koi and maybe enjoying some... More

It was late and I was on a motorcycle heading to Crater Lake. The only motel on the route was the Dogwood. Thankfully, they had a room, so I booked it by cell, and got there just before dark. Was I surprised. I had low expectations, but this place was wonderful. It was like an oasis for a weary traveler.... More

Traveled from out of town on Labor day weekend. At 1:00pm on the day I was supposed to stay received a call that they overbooked and they did not have a room for us. They found a place for us to stay but it was in town. We wanted to stay on the river not in town. We had to... More

Dogwood Motel is a lovely place to stay! It is situated across the street from the Umpqua River---very picturesque. Norman Call, the owner, is very friendly and hospitable. He has a beautiful Japanese-style Koi pond in the backyard that is available for all guests to enjoy. Plus, there is a beautiful pavilion next to the pond where guests can sit... More
