This was our first stop on a week long trip to NW Oregon. Very glad we decided to spend 2 nights at the Vagabond. Great vintage lodge just outside of downtown Hood River. They're in the process of updating the older buildings and looks like they've recently constructed a new 2 story unit. The work they've completed on the grounds... More

Pay the extra for the upgraded rooms with the river view otherwise you can be literally off the freeway. Small quaint rooms that seemed clean enough with nice fridge and beautiful grounds. Friendly staff that went out of their way to call prior to our arrival which is uncommon for such a inexpensive room. Not far (drivable) from a cute... More

Thanks for your review, glad you had a nice visit with us! Yes, our non-view rooms are closest to the road, built by my grandparents in '54. We always call because we believe in taking care of our guests before their stay, so each visit with us is a nice relaxing one. Thanks again! More

Booked a river view room. Didn't know that there was an option for a deck. Nice view and room besides that. Very pet friendly. Wonderful bed. Clean room (although a bit musty smell upon first arrival). Enjoyed the outside river overview and landscaping. Will stay here again!

Thanks for your review! Yep, one of our River View buildings has balconies, the other does not. We will be adding them as soon as we can build them out. In the meantime we'll continue our work around the grounds so there's more to enjoy! Thanks again More

We had room 28, which felt like a little cottage. Perfect for my husband and our two girls. The jet tub was especially nice after being down by the river. Very relaxing. We will be staying at the Vegabond Lodge next time we are in Hood River. The cafe next door had AMAZING french toast. Just the way my family... More

We just stayed here a few days ago in the Courtyard Rooms on the second floor and I could not fault anything, apart from perhaps no toilet seat cover. The room is nicely appointed and was very very clean, the bed was great and it was a huge room with a pleasant view. The grounds are lovely and the staff... More

Thanks much for your review, we look forward to seeing you again next time! Glad you enjoyed your visit with us. I'll talk with the building department to see if we can alter code to put lids on the toilets in new construction; every locality has something unique to get approval! Thanks again. More

It was ok. Beautiful view, watched wind surfers from the room. Room was adequate but a little out dated. They claim to have wireless wi Fi. We were unable to connect due to weak signal. Over all for the price a good place for a short stay.

Thanks for your review, we'll keep making improvements because we don't believe ok is good enough for our guests. We do have wifi throughout the property with numerous access points to choose the strongest signal from; I'll check all of those to make sure they are working correctly. Thanks again! More

This is a rather large hotel which continues to expand. It has several buildings and one new under construction. The location has pluses and minuses: some of the rooms have a great view of the Columbia river but the hotel is next to the interstate with virtually nothing in the vicinity and the town is more than a mile away.... Thanks for your review! We opened our newest building a little over a year ago, and are planning more renovations for the future. My grandparents built our first building (the front one you mentioned) back in '54, and we've slowly added over the years. We won't get too big though, as we like to give each guest individual attention that... More

Beautiful location. had a nice room overlooking the river. Beautiful grounds, pet friendly. VERY frustrated with the WiFi, or LACK thereof. It was really non-existent in our room. Did not enjoy having to walk the grounds seeking a signal. Every time we notified the front desk about this problem, they could not have been more agreeable about rebooting the router... More

Thanks for your review, glad you took the time to share your feedback with us. Sorry the Wifi didn't connect consistently with your device, that is certainly a frustrating problem. We've been working with an ISP to bring fiber out our way, and will run diags on that router and replace it if it's on our end (and let our... More

Stayed here for a wedding, the rooms are adequate. The rooms with a river view are better as they have the view. Out dated and the sink is not in the bathroom. Rooms are very clean and staff are very friendly and helpful, Gardens are nice. You can purchase breakfast in the diner next door. Plumbing is extremely noisy, when... More

Older but clean hotel located in a beautiful location. We were passing through on our way to Lincoln City, OR and wanted to break up the trip. Thankfully we were able to enjoy one of the single floor rooms that had a fantastic view of the river. The hotel is very dog friendly with lots of areas to walk your... More

Thanks for your review, glad you had a nice visit on your way to the coast! Yep my grandparents started the hotel in '54, building our Classic building while working at the lumber mill. We've added on buildings through the years, our newest opening just last May. We'll continue to make improvements in the rooms and around the grounds as... More
