We bought a great deal on Living Social for a river view room and stayed 2 nights in room #34. When making our reservation we were told the lodge was out of river view rooms for the weekend we planned to stay, so we paid an additional $63 to upgrade to a suite. Our room was on the second story... More

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in a "partial view" room (#19). I was afraid it would be one of those where you had to look out the bathroom window to enjoy the partial view so we were very pleased to find our view included the beautiful grounds and a wide stretch of the Columbia. This is... More

Excellent place to gear down. The room was extremely clean and well maintained. The grounds are like a walk in a fine park. Stay here if you get a chance. Upscale setting with a down home feel. Very nice.

We found the Vagabond Lodge clean and comfortable. We stayed in a "partial view" room near the river. While there wasn't freeway noise at this side of the hotel, we had windows open all night and there was some train noise near the river, but not obnoxious. Check-in was fast and friendly and the room stocked with towels, extra pillows,... More

We had an upstairs river view room with a balcony and we found it very relaxing and comfortable. Whilst it is not 5 star accommodation, it is clean, comfortable, roomy and had everything we needed. It is essentially a well maintained, though not luxurious lodge amongst trees; we were away from town noise had fresh air and we could sleep... More

I loved this motel. It is located right on the Columbia river and our room had 2 huge windows with spectacular views. Could see the windsrfers from our window. Actually we had a suite with a separate bedroom and sleeper sofa. There was a full kitchen, dining area with huge dining table and living room with fireplace. For just one... More

Thanks much for your review, glad you had a wonderful time! The AC in that room is just to the right of the windows; I just walked back and made sure it was all working ok. If you had any problems with it please let me know. That room is one of our most popular, so if you plan a... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Vagabond Lodge in Hood River. We had 3 adults on a fishing trip and stayed in a one bedroom suite. It was a little rustic, but clean. It had a beautiful view of the river with a nice balcony. The bedroom was fine with a queen bed and closet. The main room had a... More

Thanks for your review, glad you enjoyed that suite. This winter between the building you were in and the cliff we'll finish installing grass for guests to enjoy with a nice picnic and a bottle of wine from the Buffalo, or play some bocci ball, and enjoy with friends and family. Thanks again! More

beware, if you get the "no view room" they are right next to the highway. You will have noise all night, with the sound of airbrakes in the background. Take earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The bed was really firm, but over all the rooms were nice.

Thanks for your review. Yes, our original building ("classic" or "non-view" rooms) are closer to the road than the rest. We'll keep making improvements, keeping the road noise in mind when working on that building. Thanks again! More

My husband and our two young children stayed here while in town for a wedding recently. We stayed in the new building on the second floor. We were really impressed with the room. It was very spacious, with high vaulted ceilings. It was super clean and decorated in a simple, nice, modern way. The bathroom was lovely and the room... More

The Vagabond is older (60 years, I think), and the rooms are from that era. Everything is clean and up to date. The Vagabond is right on the Columbia River and has a park-like setting behind the rooms, facing the river. We happened to have brought folding lawn chairs along, and spent a very peaceful afternoon sitting in the yard... More

Thanks for your review! Yes, we've been welcoming guests for the past 60 years; my grandfather built our original building. We've added on more buildings since then, with our newest opening May 1st of this year. Glad you enjoyed your stay and the view, thanks again! More
