5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We had a ground floor fireplace room with a river view and it was awesome. Very spacious room with a kitchenette. There was heating in the bathroom which was nice but at night time got a little noisy because it turns on and off on its own. I would recommend to just double check your booking at this place because... More

Thanks for your review, we'll take a peek at that heater unit. Regarding your booking, sorry for that confusion. It's always best to contact us directly if there are any worries or concerns about a room being available. I'll go through and recheck the 3rd party systems to fix anything they may be missing. Glad you had a wonderful time... More

This was a living social deal. I was let down by the noise in the room. Noisy pipes and thin walls. The views were blocked by the rail on the deck. Beds were Comfortable. The deck was nice and the View was good. Very scalding hot water

Thanks for your review, we checked on that hot water yesterday and got everything fixed. Sorry the railing is at that height, it has to be a certain height to meet code for safety reasons. I'll check into a couple options for using a different design to open up that view a bit more. In the meantime we'll continue making... More

i am blown away that you can get a cliff side river View room for $75 in Hood River. I am a Hood River local and saw the old vagabond on the tv show Hotel Impossible. Had to check it out and was not disappointed! Well done!

Thanks for your review! Yes, our views out back are still a bit of a hidden secret that can't be seen from the road. We're continuing to improve the grounds and view as well so more guests can enjoy our little spot! Thanks again. More

Wonderful little place with spectacular views. Good bang for your buck. Few minutes away from downtown Hood River and Full Sail Brewery. We had a wonderful time and will return for another visit. Thank you for the hospitality

I found out about this charming property from "Hotel Impossible." I was a deep affinity for Anthony Melchiorri because of my own background in the travel and hospitality industry. So when Anthony, with all his bluster and swagger, deemed the Vagabond Lodge a good one right from the start, I knew one day I would visit. Hood River itself is... More

Thanks much for your review, glad you enjoyed your visit with us! Glad you enjoyed our new courtyard building and we will continue making improvements throughout all our rooms. We're expanding the amphitheater these last few days: laying stone to wrap around for everyone to enjoy the view. It is a great spot for a picnic, reading, or writing. Definitely... More

My husband, dog, and I stayed here before the Columbia Gorge Half Marathon - what a great place! Family-owned for three generations, right ON the Columbia River (what views!), a short drive to downtown Hood River, and great prices. We will definitely return.

Thanks for your review, the marathon had some nice weather this year! Having so many options for running (or hiking) is one of the nice things here in Hood River. This year the marathon is on Sunday, Oct 25th, so plan ahead! Thanks again. More

The Vagabond has a lot to offer for the price. It is in a beautiful setting. The grounds and rooms are well cared for and updated, while maintaining the "older" character. No modern generic sterile feeling here. There are at least 3-4 room types to choose from to fit your needs and budget. We stayed in the middle at a... More

We stayed in the dog friendly building on the river. The room was big with a nice porch and view. The front desk and the cleaners were friendly. The white buffalo cafe in front of the hotel property was handy for a glass of wine and a snack. They do takeout too.

The first Pro is the location......in the summer months the downtown area of Hood River can get crowded and noisy. This place is far from the crowds. Second Pro is the place has been updated, a very good improvement over prior stays. Third Pro is the price, I feel that it is the best value in town.

Thanks for your review! Yes, Hood River is very busy in the summer. It's nice to have a little spot just a short distance from downtown that feels like it's away from everything to simply enjoy and relax. We'll keep making improvements and updates as well, thanks again! More
