This is a followup to my "Global Top 10" review of May 5, 2011, based on a bunch of return visits. Sometimes you go somewhere, love it the first couple times, then return and think, "Hmm, not so much." I'm writing to say the opposite -- this place is every bit as great as it was when we first found... More

My husband and I have been going here for years. Nancy and Phil are great, and breakfasts, both food and conversation, are a good start for the day. Each year there are interesting people from all over the States and sometimes the world. One visit I studied my Italian with a woman from England who was also studying Italian. The... More

I've been visiting the Ranch since it opened and I would advise everyone on the planet to do so at least once!! It will only take once to get you hooked on the power and beauty of this place. Its simply magic! The Wilsons are honest, warm, funny, and hard working folks who provide you with outstanding service and food,... More

There aren't many locations in Oregon where guests may ride horseback and this is the best of them. The inn is very excellent, super clean (Karen the housekeeper does a great! job), breakfast is large and excellent, and it is peaceful spot to visit. Fossil is certainly off the beaten track but there are many diversions in the area. There... More

What can I say that hasn't already been said. If you are visiting the Fossil area there is no better place to stay. Take some food with you to cook on the BBQs provided because you won't want ot go out to eat at night. Whether you want to use the WRR as a base for touring the area or... More

Heard about this B & B from my wife's coworker. He had not been here but it looked good so we tried it. Glad we did. The house is a nice quiet place to stay, the breakfast is awesome, Nancy cooked the first one and Karen the second , both were great with a personal touch to each. You eat... More

This was the most down-to-earth, personalized and accommodating B&B stay that we have ever experienced. We ended up arriving extremely late due to snow in the passes but the Wilson's were more than happy to welcome us when we arrived after 11pm with a friendly 'howdy' and a roaring fire in our room. We enjoyed exploring the ranch and listening... More

My wife and I wanted to visit John Day and a couple other outdoorsy things. She found the ranch which sounded like our cup of tea. Got there with no issues and check in was simple. Went over and petted a couple horses and then enjoyed the dinner we brought as we watched deer graze in the field right behind... More

This B & B is set in the high desert of north-central Oregon. The roads are twisty and fun and very well maintained, so it's easy to get there. The scenery is stunningly beautiful and changes with the light so that there are constant opportunities for photography. The house is warm and welcoming as are the owners and staff. They... More

We are repeat visitors and find the ranch as enjoyable as in the past. Accomodations are rustic but exceptionally clean and orderly. We recommend enjoying the expansive breakfast (provided) and bringing food for your own preparation in the evenings. Dining in Fossil is beyond unexceptional and the Condon Hotel (20 miles distant) has closed its dining room. The ranch has... More
