Very unique lodging. We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Lodge. We read some of the reviews that warned of a noisy stay but we were there on a Sunday night and found it to be very peaceful. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. Loved the terry robes provided. Very nice touch. Thought the price was... more

Having been to a number of McMenamins establishments, I was looking forward to trying out one of their hotels. I was not impressed. The rooms were absolutely tiny. My friend and I had requested a cot and it was amazing we actually got the thing open after having to rearrange the furniture. The sheets were old and rather nubby and... more

I love the McMenamin brothers. They make good food, they brew great beer, and they take old buildings and turn them into something awesome and new. The Grand Lodge is a great example, but it's not my favorite of their hotels. The frisbee golf on the lawn is cool, the pub is lively and the staff are nice. But beware... more

I was dissapointed with the Grand Lodge. My wife and I have stayed at McMenamins Edgefield many times, but wanted to try the Grand Lodge. We found ourselves constantly comparing/contrasting the property to Edgefield. Edgefield is better in every catagory(rooms, food, drinking locations, grounds, etc...). Grand Lodge does have a nice hot tub area...we enjoyed it. The grounds were pretty,... more

We have stayed here before but luckily had the 3rd floor in the past. This time my wife and I booked a package deal on-line. We planned to have a relaxing time here after a day of wine tasting. We ended up in a room on the main floor closest to the front desk. The noise didn't stop until about... more

This is a beautiful propety that used to be a retirement home for the Masons. The property has a great atmosphere and be sure catch the cheap movie, only $3 to get in with beer and wine available for purchase. There are several restraunts, but no breakfast is served during the week. They do provide a very simple continental breakfast... more

I want to go back to McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove OR again & again. If I were a local I'd check in just for the weekend now & then to unwind. We felt like we were guests at someone's estate mansion. There was so much we could do to occupy ourselves yet, it wasn't overwhelming. We arrived at... more

This hotel is great if you are looking for someplace different. It has a lot of history and a lot of cool artwork all throughout the hotel. If you're looking for someplace cheap and entertaining then stay here. The bathrooms are communal but I didn't run into one person in the bathroom while I was there. There is no air... more

We have stayed at the Grand Lodge a few times now and we really like it. It's a fun place to spend an evening drinking beer, playing pool and watching movies. We really like the Doctors Office bar, although it can get really smokey in there. We've found it's better to stay in a room in the wings other than... more

We stayed at The Grand Lodge over Halloween weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The Lodge itself is really fun, full of neat artwork and antiques. The rooms are all named differently depending on who happened to stay there and the walls inside the rooms are adorned with little sayings and phrases of said guests. The bathrooms are shared and... more
