We come to Florence every summer to kayak the small lakes in the dunes. For the last 10 or so years we've stayed at the Blue Heron and it's almost like going to visit a favorite aunt & uncle. Great place to stay!!! There are kayak and canoe trails, lots of lakes and the rides on the dune buggy in... More

Due to a change in plans we suddenly needed to find lodging on the Oregon Coast in high season and everything was solidly booked, yet this place had a few rooms. We guessed that perhaps people might be avoiding it due to some of the Trip Advisor reviews, as we had done at first. But we went to check it... More

Don't know how to respond! This is our home also, which is what a bed & breakfast is historically. Yes, we do watch the news in the afternoon in the common area, waiting for guests to arrive, no blaring TV, as our hearing is fine! Yes, we do ring a small glass bell to alert guests that a hot breakfast... More

B&Bs seem to come in three flavors. A detached living area near or at a home with almost no interaction with hosts or other guests. Second a luxury home with upstairs rooms where their are guests a good bit of interaction with hosts at breakfast and possibly with other guests at breakfast or in common areas. Host live largely apart.... More

The hosts are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area - They even offered to share their dinner reservation with us at a local eatery. The breakfast in the morning was good. The only negative is that it is on a busy road and you can hear the trafiic from your room.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Blue Heron Inn. These innkeepers have been doing this for a long time and it really shows. They have thought of every possible convenience for their guests. Florence is a very cute town and this is a great option for where to stay. The B&B is immaculate. Each room is nicely decorated and... More

We stayed two nights and we value a good breakfast when we stay at B and B's so I'm happy to report that breakfast was great. The hosts, Maurice and Stella were extremely friendly and welcoming and not pushy or in your space like some other places we've stayed. We stayed in two different rooms because the Inn was full... The Blue Heron Inn was a wonderful experience. First of all it is in a beautiful location, the Suislaw river practically at the front door. The inn itself is so lovely and homey, you feel like you are staying with good friends, Maurice and Stella, your hosts, are most hospitable and gracious providing amenities not usually required. They are so... More

I have been staying at the Blue Heron once or twice a year since I stumbled on it in about 2009. Maurice and Stella are like family now, and my visits with them are a highlight of my trips to Florence! The breakfasts are incredible, scenery is awesome, and the rooms are wonderful, with character, space, and plenty of amenities.... More

From the first time we stayed at the Blue Heron Inn it felt like home. We were welcomed with open arms.We were shown round, where to find tea and coffee should we want any at a later time.We were then shown to our room, which was quite lovely. After we had settled in, and had come downstairs we were told... More

We were comfortable in the Blue Heron Inn. It's not in the heart of Florence, but close enough not to be a problem. Maurice and Stella welcomed us and gave lots of good advice on places to eat and see. The room we had was spacious and the breakfasts were excellent. The hosts were willing to accommodate our eating requests... More
