This is a vacation home rental managed by Dolphin Property Management. It is a large house located behind the sand dunes on Pond Street off Heceta Beach Road. The location is very good as it is within a two minute walk of the beach and ocean. You should be aware of the very high wind levels in Florence in July. The winds are so strong during the day that is it is unpleasant to walk on the beach without a hood and warm jacket. It is very hard for small children to play in the sand or water and very cold compared to temperatures inland. Not very suitable at that time of year for a family vacation with children under ten or twelve. Locals advised us that September can be very pleasant there with light winds, but cooler.
The house is large and well suited to a family or group, however is poorly maintained. It was not cleaned well and beds were not made up. We had to finish off the bedding and towel laundry, both washing and drying, from the previous tenants. The refrigerator doesn't... more
