Our son is a student at U of O. We love Eugene and have stayed other places during his college career. This is a tired looking place and the staff were equally blase. The bar and food were over priced. T he river walk was very nice. Try someplace else. more

Was tere for a big convention. Ample space and there was a bar in the hotel. There was a big group of people having fun swimming. The staff was really helpful. more

I had the pleasure of staying at this fine hotel establishment recently. This was my fourth time in the last dozen years. Each time was a business trip but after my first stay I made a point of adding days to my trip. The Eugene area is a wonderful place to visit and The Valley River Inn an excellent place... more

I recently stayed at the Valley River Inn and I can't say more about the quality of service that I receive. The front desk staff always go the extra mile is seeing that your needs are met. The service in Stillwaters is outstanding. From the view of the river to a candle light dinner make this one of the most... more

Because we got a $45 rate through Priceline, the room was a good value. Desk clerk was pleasant and we were assigned to the north building and had a 3rd floor balcony room with courtyard view. The room was spacious and clean and it appeared some updating had been accomplished in the bathroom. There was a small fridge and microwave.... more

I have a romance with older hotels, my wife, not so much. Booked a room online for three days/two nights. The confirmation stated, "Courtyard or landscape view". We got a breathtaking view of the parking lot. My wife is a stickler for nice bedding. The blankets were paper thin, identified by marking pen and had a few holes in them.... more

Ordered a confirmed river view room for $219 a night on their site. When we got there, they claimed it was a problem with their computer and river views cannot be confirmed. We were given a different room with a view of a sidewalk. The manager said she would give us $30 a night discount for the inconvenience, but of... more

The staff is very friendly. I loved being so close to the mall. The walking path is quite nice. Nice pool. Excellent price with Entertainment Book...and included breakfast and cocktails. We didn't have our dog with us...but, we have travelled with a dog before and appreciate a hotel that allows pets. If travelling with a child, be sure to visit... more

I used to LOVE this property, so it is very sad to see it in such disrepair. It is a great location - right on the river - but it has literally gone to the dogs. Reported a barking dog below me and that I had gotten 4 flea bites the night before. The reponse from the front desk was... more

I lived in Eugene many years ago & the Valley River Inn was THE place -- elegant & posh. I've been back to Eugene many times over the past 24 years, & mostly have stayed here. Tried the Hilton once, was disappointed, & returned to my faithful VR Inn. Well ... it's slowly & sadly declined to the point that... more
