Made last minute reservations at the Excelsior when traveling through Eugene on a vacation road trip. We were lucky to get a room, the "Chopin", which was excellent. Clean, beautiful and extremely comfortable. One step better, we ate in their restaurant. Equally excellent. These people get it and do it right. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for that little... This is a quite charming hotel located close to the central campus of the University of Oregon. I liked the paneled hallways and the comfortable appointment of the room. Don't expect much in the way of front-end services - the lobby is unmanned in the evenings (you need to go to the nearby restaurant to find someone), there is no... More

Adjacent to the University of Oregon, this quiet, elegant boutique hotel is a surprise on a street of coffee shops and fast food restaurants. The rooms are small but well appointed, and there are extra touches like salted hazelnuts for a late night snack. The rooms are all named for composers and classical music was playing quietly when I entered.... More

This 100 year old house has been in the past a sorority, then fraternity among other things. Now a well restored hotel and restaurant. Rooms are charming with hard wood floors and antique styled furnishings. There is wonderful art work throughout the Hotel and rooms are named after famous composers. Staff are very accommodating and breakfast is included in your... More

We arrived late at night without a reservation. Unlike another place that tried to rip us off, they gave us a beautiful room at half the price. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, made with mostly their own fresh farm products and every staff member we ran into was incredibly friendly and professional. We stayed at the Hayden room which was great,... More

Nice location, two block away from the campus. The breakfast is good. Room is small but cosy. It is lovely that all rooms are named after composers. The hotel is old-fashioned that you use actual keys for access to rooms instead of cards.

This hotel has its quirks but most of them are endearing. It is in reality a blend between a small hotel and a B&B. It couldn't be in a better location for access to the campus. The rooms are large and very clean. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The included breakfast with produce from their own gardens is... More

My wife and I spent New Years eve at the excelsior. The hotel is a block from campus, (about as downtown as Eugene gets) but was quiet without any road traffic or city noise to speak. The parking is a bit of a bane (you have to park a block away in the 2nd basement level of the hospital structure),... More

My husband and I visited Eugene for a speech at the university, The inn is perfectly situated next to the beautiful campus and the buzz of student activity. Our room overlooked the front garden, with its outdoor restaurant seating. The room was very comfortable, quiet and cozy, the staff extremely helpful. We enjoyed an excellent authentic Italian dinner in the... More

This isn’t a bed and breakfast- it’s a hotel that includes a breakfast voucher with the room rate. For me, the pleasure of a B&B is checking out the house, visiting with the host, sitting in a common room with books or puzzles, visiting with guests over breakfast, etc. The Excelsior Inn doesn’t feel like that. There is no common... More
