This is a lovely bed and breakfast for those who are traveling light. We were on the road for two weeks and had quite a bit of "stuff" with us. Our room was way too small. We also wished that the Excelsior had a lounge where we could just sit and relax, read a book, etc. The staff was very... More

I stayed one night for business, but loved the room and the service at the Excelsior. The staff was very friendly. Parking was very crowded, so the staff suggested I double park but leave the keys to my rental. I did so and they took care of everything. What a great location near campus! I had lunch in the restaurant... More

We were very pleasantly surprised when we found this little gem. On most other visits to UO, we have stayed at some of the chain hotels on Franklin. This was a charming hotel with nicely decorated room. It is conveniently located near many of the sorority houses, making it quite easy to help my daughter move out. I found the... More

A little bit pricey but worth it. Room was nice and then comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Who can resist SMOKED SALMOM EEGGS BEBEDICT? Only detractor is they don't have coffee on weekdays because the restraunt opens at seven.

My daughter and I stayed while visiting the University of Oregon. From the minute we checked in until the time we left was just perfect. The location was just a block or two from campus but felt private and secluded. The staff was wonderful, as was the room. Very clean, comfortable and with everything we needed. Highly recommend dinner at... More

I stayed here for three nights during a visit to the university just two blocks away. Lovely room, although my mattress was way too soft for my liking. Odd that desk isn't staffed after 5. They do provide a boxed breakfast if you check out before restaurant opens. I wish they had better coffee either in room or in the... More

The room is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The staff, from check-in to restaurant were all consistently friendly, as if visiting a dear friend. The restaurant here has five-star quality food (both dinner and breakfast). Often a free breakfast in continental. Not here - you pick one entree from the menu - fabulous. Best Eggs Benedict you will ever eat.... More

I've never been greeted by such a friendly and sincere employee at the front desk of a hotel! She showed us to our rooms with my in-laws and took very good care of their needs as well. The rooms have a lot of character but are very tastefully done. The restaurant serves very authentic Italian food and the service was... More

The Excelsior has, in no order, superb staff, a stunning kitchen, an absolutely lovely warm clean friendly inn, an easy comfortable welcoming tone, terrific wines, and a general calm professionalism that makes it utterly unthinkable that we would ever stay anywhere else in Eugene. Reasonably priced, astounding food and wine, meticulously clean lodging, friendly and personal staff – we drove... More

Stayed for two nights with another couple in August before a Willamette Valley trip. It's really a B&B, so to those who complained about the limited breakfast options - usually there are no options! We found the menu to be more than adequate. We ate dinner outside our first night and enjoyed both the food and the wine as well... More
