Every year my wife and I travel to Napa Valley for wine tasting and relaxing in the California wine country. This year we added a trip to Oregon to our annual wine tasting trip and, after researching places to stay, selected the Black Walnut Inn in Dundee. We flew into Portland and drove out to Dundee, which is Southwest of... more

The Black Walnut Inn is a great B&B in the heart of the Willamette Valley wine country. The atmosphere is very relaxing. It is located on the crest of rolling hills and is surrounded by vineyards. There are great views of the valley and Mount Hood beyond. Breakfasts were great with 3 or 4 different choices each day. The owner... more

My wife and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Black Walnut Inn. I was very surprised to read some of the reviews that called out service issues. We had none. Both the Inn and the Innkeepers were as delightful as any top tier B&B that we've ever stayed in. One night the Innkeeper made us a... more

After spending 5 nights here, I would surmise that the two, preceding reviewers are perhaps difficult people. Our stay was delightful; service was both timely and genuine (while at breakfast, our rooms were cleaned every single day). We were greeted warmly and the staff was both attentive and unobtrusive. Afternoon appetizers were excellent and morning breakfast was a delightful adventure.... more

I can only say I wish we would have read the negative reviews on tripadvisor before staying here. Based on our experience, the stories of the rude, narcissistic innkeeper reported here are true. Our experience was so bad that it is too long and contentious to explain on tripadvisor. This is a beautiful inn, and it appears some people are... more

I have to preface this by saying two things. First of all, I am the type of person who heavily relies upon Trip Advisor , but I seldom contribute to the reviews. Our experiences have been mostly wonderful at the recommended hotels, but I believe that our experience at the Black Walnut to be worthy of a review. Second, the... more

My partner and I recently stayed at The black Walnut Inn on a vacation thru Oregan. We loved the drive to the Inn - beautiful winding roads thru vineyards and the largest hanging baskets of flowers we have ever seen. The Inn is on top of a hill in the middle of a vineyard overlooking the valleys of wine country.... more

This is a beautiful place! Unfortunately the service didn't live up to the beauty.... When we arrived in the lobby/reception area the young man working ignored us for several minutes until we finally asked if this was where we checked in. It was a very warm day and the air conditioning in our room was set very cold – too... more

The Black Walnut Inn is a high-end, lovely B&B that brings a fresh, modernist interior style to Tuscan-lovely inn buildings. Our room, the Old World, was attractively decorated with two very comfortable chairs, though it lacked a desk, dresser or closet, making it a little difficult to charge electronics or put away clothes. Since we were there for just a... more

My wife and I spent one night at the Black Walnut during our Honeymoon and the only mistake we made is by not sending more time there. Because the B&B was currently half empty, the owner decided to upgrade us to one of the nicest rooms free of charge. The husband and wife team with their son do a fantastic... more
