We rented a room priced at 260.00 after all taxes. I generally pull back the covers in the bed, there was a yellow stain. Under the table that we were to eat there was dog food left. Went to get a glass to drink from and it was dirty. Called to ask if the room was cleaned. Told them about... More

We stayed here for one night in order to make an early morning start on a nearby backpacking trip and found it beyond expectations. Everything is new and nicely done with tile, granite and knotty pine décor in the small but cute rooms. The space is well used, including high ceilings which make the rooms more comfortable, new log beds... More

Spent two nights at the Lodge. Had family camping at the Detroit Lake campground, but not being campers, we opted for the lodge. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of space to park. The only drawback was the folks in the room next door that partied until about 2 a.m. and the walls were... More

Traveling through in the off season, April, lake still frozen over. The hotel is situated along the shore of the lake with nice grounds and beach area.looks like a great spot in the summer months. We had two rooms for our group both on the ground floor. One room was an handicap accessible room as one of our group is... More

We were pleasantly surprised by how clean and new this motel was. We had a gas fireplace, a brand new bath, charming western theme furnishings, and a comfortable bed. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. We would recommend it.

My wife and I stayed here for the weekend. The good: Clean nice rooms, good TV and programming, GREAT bathroom, nice beds, and we could even bring our little furry friend. Friendly staff that even brought us some charcoal lighter fluid when we needed it. Very close to everything including the marina we used to rent a boat. The not... More

I am tempted to tell you that this is a horrible place, mean staff, bed of nails to sleep on, that's if you can sleep with all the loud music, people wandering from room to room....Just one big party. Oh, and the sheriff has been here time and time again! NOT A CHANCE!!! The staff is helpful, courteous and so... More

Stayed in Room 8 and we were very pleased with cute and high quality room finishing. Room looked newly done, with built-in gas fireplace, large plasma TV above it, overhead fan, wall AC, whirlpool tub, and a nice refrig. Also had lots of wall receptacles for power. We loved this place.

If you're expecting a 'lodge' anywhere near Detroit lake, this isn't it. BUT, this is a well-priced, recently-updated, very clean and well-run motel, close to lake activities as well as excellent hikes in the Opal Creek Wilderness. It sits right on the highway, and there are no walking-distance access points to the lake. Property manager Raphael is a great guy... More
