choice hotels really did a disservice to both this particular hotel, and to the company's brand structure, by designating this hotel a clarion. The Surfrider is a great representation of an Oregon Coast hotel: amazing views, nice staff, decent food. The rooms are huge, with a true living room and fully separate bedroom, and most have a balcony overlooking the... More

Spotted the hotel from the road and took a chance. Nice Surprise, our room was clean with a fireplace. We were in building 3, had a balcony overlooking the ocean and what a view. We had been on the road all day and decided to eat at the bar while watching football. Nicky the bartendar was great. Food was fine... More

The view from our ocean side room was spectacular. You are very close to the water and can here the waves pounding. The down side is to get to your deck you exit a door which faces at an angle to the room next to you. If their door is open you look right into their room. Although you have... More

The best thing about the Surf Rider Resort is the view. Most rooms have a personal deck (an entrance to the decks shared by the room next door) with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. The housekeeping service was poor, only our trash cans were emptied and a light was left on in the room. But the view, access... More

After many years of visiting the Surfrider we are pleased to see it heading back in the right direction. The new management have taken steps to improve this place and after having a bad experience 1 year ago , we are Happy with our stay this year. Only complaint ( Minor one ) is that the new pictures they put... More

What a great view from our hotel room. Watching the sun set over the ocean and the whales spouting just off shore made for a very romantic weekend. We did wonder why there were no screens on our windows though... Listening to the ocean added a calming touch to our night.

On site restaurant, pool, spa, sauna. We had a nice room, second (top) floor, right on the cliff edge. Great view of the ocean and the sunset. Watched a pod of whales from our balcony all evening until sunset, and again the next morning.

Having just completed our annual visit to the Surfrider (6 or 7 years in a row) we leave vowed never to return. Since Clarion took over ownership of the hotel we have seen a continued decline in the cleanliness of the rooms, especially the bathroom. The jet tub was old, in a state of disrepair and dirty. It appears as... More

I got in late at night and couldn't see around the place, but I was amazed and impressed by the size of the room. There is a picture window that looks out on the balcony and the Pacific Ocean. At night all I could see was the fog. The next morning was incredibly clear and I could even see humpback... More

First off we had been driving along the coast and we checed out lodging at very many places that would satisfy our needs (Great views, kitchen and beach access) and we finally found it here. Chuck was very helpfull getting us checked in and I really loved him for setting us up in the beach house. We were a walk... More
