This was my first stay at the Ecola Inn, although it had come highly recommended by friends. It has a history of being "charmingly rustic," but with recent renovations and updates, it was surprisingly modern. Room/Beds: We had two Queen Beds in Room 6. Clean and comfortable, made It very difficult to pull ourselves out of bed each morning. We... More

We love the Ecola Inn. Many years ago, we stopped in randomly at this small older motel right on the beach and loved it so much we have been coming back for a week every winter--and we live 700 miles away in California! SPECTACULAR views--Haystack Rock, sand and ocean right out front. We love coming in winter--might be sunny spring-like... More

My wife and I have stayed here for many years when coming to Cannon Beach. We have enjoyed the view of the beach, the friendliness of the owners of this family owned hotel. The rooms are always clean and well maintained. The kitchens are well supplied with everything you need to prepare your own meals. Then sit at the table,... More

We really, really wanted to love this place and looked forward to staying here. Rooms are hard to get as they are often booked months ahead. The location can't be beat for view of Haystack Rock. That being said, I made reservations about one month in advance, which scored us the room. We had to switch to a second room... More

We have been spending time at the Ecola Inn for almost 20 years now. I retired five years ago and we spent 8 weeks there in 2013 and have seven weeks reserved in 2014. You can not beat the location. Right on the beach and facing Hay Stack Rock. We prefer the "off" season. Our weeks in November often times... More

For an older building it has been kept up very well. The Ecola inn is on the beach, no more than 20 feet to the sand with a straight on view of Haystack rock. Our room was the only one available at the time, with 3 queen beds, kitchenette, an excellent room. Summer reservations almost need to made a year... More

I was happy to find a vacancy at this vintage wonder late in the afternoon on a warm and sunny Friday and stayed one night. It was a bit out of my price range but it was getting late and I didn't feel like driving around anymore, plus the view of haystack rock was spectacular and the beach was right... More

My husband and I and our dog stayed here the week of Christmas. #1 - when you can lay in your bed and look out at Haystack and watch the ocean, that is pretty awesome! #2 - it was so nice and quiet. #3 - Miki, our dog LOVED it and had the best time. You cannot beat this place... More

My husband and I were LUCKY enough to stay here on October 14 of this year. We had just by chance decided to stop at Cannon Beach to see the amazing Hay Stack Rock and spotted this little gem of a hotel directly on the beach right in front of it. Since we had NO IDEA it was a holiday... More

This marvelous lodge sits at the North end of Hemlock, near the entrance to the Ecola Park. The room we had was actually a lovely, large queen bed suite. The only thing that needs attention (IMO), is the quality of the bedding. The sheets were low thread count, and as such, felt a bit scratchy. On the other hand, the... More
