Spent 2 nights in the Dragonfly Cabin which has a deck right on the river! Kitchen is complete with gas stove/oven. The 2 bedroom rustic charm cabin was perfect for a weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city life.... no TV but WIFI is there but I didn't use it.... Go explore this wonderful area using... More

Simple cabin right on the river. In a group of about 9 small cabins but we hardly ever heard or saw anyone. Cabins are simple but clean. Fully stocked kitchen, windows and door to shared back grass sitting area right on the river. Really can't get any closer. Just 1/2 block to the store for convenience but you don't get... More

May is a great time to go as it is quieter. The weather and the setting are still good and not enough can be said about the sound of that sweet and scenic river right next to the cabins, esp. "Serendipity.' The lack of decent internet and other electronic distractions makes for a great getaway.

We came across the Metolious River lodges by accident and we were so glad we did. What a relaxing place to stay. Initially we had only planned top stay 1 night, but liked the place so much that we stayed an extra night. We stayed in Stonefly Cabin, which had both a beroom area and a kitchen area. The backdoor... More

We stayed in the Serenity cabin, part of a duplex, on the Metolius River Lodges property. The cabin is basic, but very comfortable. The view of the river is hard to beat. There is no TV, and the WiFi, at least in our part of the property, was non-existent, but for relaxation and peace it cannot be beat. The duplex... More

...but a little "long in the tooth." I discovered these cabins about 20 years ago and have stayed many times over the years. You can't beat the location and serenity. Minimal cell service, spotty internet access in the middle of the yard and no television ensures that you really do get away from it all when you stay here. The... More

We spent a weekend in a 2-bedroom cabin right on the Metolious River. The cabin was cozy (translated - small) but ok for our four adults, one teenager, and a toddler. Beds were warm and comfortable. We had a fire in the fireplace at night which kept the cabin toasty and we didn't feel cold at night at all, even... More

If your vacation aim is to remove yourself from the "rat race and relax with only the basic necessities then Camp Sherman and the Metolius River Lodges (MRL) fit the bill. Discovered by my wife and I relatively recently, for about 7 years now we have made it an annual destination. Nestled within the forest and immediately upon the banks... More

Just back from a great weekend at Metolius River Lodges in Camp Sherman. Spectacular setting right on the banks of the Metolius River. First stay here in 37 years of visiting the Camp Sherman area. Previous trips have included camping, as well as private and commercial lodging along the river. Our accommodation was spotlessly clean, the beds super comfortable, bath... More

This is one of our favorite hideaways as a couple. I rated the room quality less than "excellent" ONLY because we have only stayed in one of their cabins...we found a favorite and have stuck with it. The cabins set right on the beautiful Metolious River, a classic setting no matter what time of year you visit. Your first load... More
