Being from the area I've always wanted to try it out. It was ok for a one or two night stay, which is what we did. One night. We were in B-7, it was an older one towards the bottom of the hill. It was my husband and I. It needs a little attention as far as more detailed cleaning... More

Our cabin is not good! Bathroom shower is filthy (they don't provide any cleaning products) I wear flip-flops when I shower; outdoor furniture is rusty and broken down; when I turned the oven on it was so dirty that it smoked so much the smoke detector went off; the portion between the leaf of the table and the table was... We just go back from celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary at the Whaleshead "Resort". We have been a Whaleshead fan and customer for the last 10 years but it is very obvious that this place is being mismanaged. Our unit, U25 had a disgusting smell to it when I walked in on Friday August 22nd. It was the smell of... More

Now that I have had some time to cool off I will respond to this reviewer. This person apparently is someone that is comfortable with staying in unsuitable conditions for the pleasure of trashing a person or property. U-25 was cleaned 2 days prior to her arriving and at that time there was no smell in the cabin. Now we... More

Our stay was amazing! We stayed in I-12 and I loved it. I don't understand how anyone could have a bad stay here. The view was absolutely incredible and it was so nice and quiet the whole time. The bedroom was pretty small but that is really to be expected in something that is pretty much a mobile home. There... More

Just got back from Whaleshead yesterday and I don't understand how there are negative reviews. Our cabin (U-12) was absolutely awesome. The staff was very attentive to our requests and the reunion went off without a hitch. The views are stunning and our family stayed in about 7 different cabins. While some have less furniture than others, we had no... More

Thank you to the folks at Whaleshead Beach Resort!!! We had a great stay. Out of town but not to far, clean, comfortable, and most of all quiet. Loved the set up and had a very good time in the Brookings area.

We just stayed for two nights and the cabin was amazing. Perfect for the 5 of us and a very reasonable price. Front office was very helpful with anything we needed. View of the ocean was a little distant but still spectacular. We will be back!!

So we stayed at the cabin U24 CHECKED IN 06/24/2014 CHECKED OUT 06/26. My wife acquired 70 bed bugs, and my daughter 30 bed bug bites from the loft beds. The reaction to the bites was not immediate, and if you research bed bugs you will see it can be a few hours to several days before the symptoms and... More

You just have to love this. Wife and daughter slept in the loft beds and after their stay the reviewer counted each and every one of the 'bites'. It is obvious that this reviewer read an older complaint about bed bugs and decided to run with it. He even went so far as to look up the mating cycle of... More

we had a family reunion for two weeks in unit 21. they were 3 tvs, only one worked. The place had food and muck down the walls in the kitchen. The first night barbecuing burnt my dinner. I spent 45 minutes cleaning it the next day. This was a family reunion and a vacation! Everyone had to shower in the annex... More

Really do not understand some reviews and this is one of them. Prior to this party checking in, this cabin was given a 'deep clean' so I really don't know where the food and muck came from. Did a child spill something that didn't get cleaned up?? (Child doesn't have to be a minor) You burned your dinner on the... More

We came to Whaleshead for our honeymoon, and absolutely enjoyed our stay. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We stayed in cabin I-1, and will definitely book again when we're in Brookings next. Having a full kitchen was wonderful, and the hot tub was great to relax in after being out on the beach all day. There is also... More
