We arrived early and asked for early check in. She said she would let us know. We walked around, checking out downtown Bend, and they called and said they had a room available, so we were able to check in a little early. That was nice. We ate at the main restaurant twice. It was pretty good. We caught a... More

I was expecting an average kind of stay at McMenamins but was blown away with how great it was! We arrived on a Tuesday evening during a bit of a storm. The snow was a nice change and McMenamins was the perfect place to be as you don't even need to leave the property if you don't want to :)... More

We spent a couple of nights here for our anniversary, in the Alter Boy room. After talking with the staff I think we got lucky in that we got one of their favorites. The rooms, as is the McMenamins' tradition, are different one from another, though they all have the same feel to them. Ours had a huge living area... More

This hotel is a horrible place to bring your family and I would recommend you avoid it at all costs. Something as simple as hotel guest parking is not available. The front desk staff is rude and created a terrible experience during our stay.

This was our first visit to a McMenamins property, and while it's not your usual 4-star spot, we loved it! The Queen room was lovely and really roomy (bed a bit squishy for us).The shower was fantastic, too. The magic of the soaking pool cannot be overstated. Yes, it's beautiful, but you also feel as if you're in a friend's... More

Unique place with many areas to explore, only 19 rooms so book early! We had the king room with double tubs. Looked forward after morning of hiking to soak. But there was not enough hot water to fill even one tub! So disappointing to pay extra for the room and not able to use the feature. So we headed to... More

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely loved this place. The soaking pool was phenomenal, and I love how friendly the staff is and the uniqueness of it all. But that's how I feel about all the McMenamins I've stayed at. This one though was twice as expensive. I guess Bend is a lot more expensive than Portland? I was just... More

This is not just a hotel, it's also got a cinema, soaking pool, a music room, several bars, a beer garden with fire pits and restaurants. It is a converted school which has retained many original features. The bedrooms have names not just numbers and they each have a different character. We stayed in the Altar Boys Room and it... This is a centrally sited single floored (at the time of writing) hotel. We had a double queen room on the street side of the building - not especially noisy for London dwellers. Clean room and comfortable beds. No fridge as per McMenamins policy - we were offered fridge space if required for our picnic lunch items. The soaking pool... More

Our second visit in five years and we enjoyed it both time so it is repeatable. A very interesting historical building repurposed for modern use. Very spacious room with excellent decor and furnishings. Very quiet. On site bar and restaurant. We enjoyed the bar but the breakfast fell short in service and food quality. Excellent downtown location with easy walk... More
