This is one of the "Gem's " of Central Oregon. Only 34 miles from Bend, on the beautiful Cascade Lakes Highway. Easily accessible, rustic but with modern amenities. There is a fantastic historical lodge where Art Carney was filmed as Harry Truman in the film S. Helens, complete with full bar, local draft beer's, a restaurant, outdoor deck with a... More

In the Summer months Elk lake is super busy and you may not find a parking spot. But if you do stop by it is worth it to enjoy a burger or sandwich on the deck with the view of the lake. Our food and beers were delicious. The service is notoriously slow, inconsistent, lacking. They just don't have enough... More

We stayed in a vintage cabin for three nights. The setting is beautiful. We love Elk Lake because it's quiet, and a great place for a lake experience without noisy power boats around. Most boaters are in canoes, kayaks, sailboats, or small low-speed fishing boats. The view from our cabin was lovely although we were right above their outdoor event... More

My family was accused of damaging another boat when our rental stalled out. Owner of other boat told them it was a preexisting scratch. We were cussed at & called liars by staff. No apology was given.

Although the Resort & Lakeside setting is charming, the primitive (no water, no toilet, no electricity) "Camping Cabin" had a "bed" that sank at least 8" in the center - no mattress support. yikes. no sleep for us! At $63/night, a huge rip-off.

Stayed 2 nights with family in rm 25. Excellent location for hikers attempting South Sister summit since it is only 5 minutes from the Devil Lake trailhead. Nice comfortable log home in the woods on the lakeside. We took packed breakfast and lunch from Bend for the summit hike since the resort restaurant opens at 9 am and the service... More

Stayed at Elk Lake Resort over a busy Summer weekend. There were two athletic events happening so I mean it was busy, lots of runners and swimmers. We stayed in a rustic log cabin with a loft that would sleep 8. The cabin was rustic but clean ( I walked barefoot indoors and my feet stayed clean ). The beds... More

We were hiking nearby and decided to stop in the lodge for food. I think it was called the Elk Burger but was beef and was delicious. Especially after a long day of hiking! It was fun to sit out on the deck, drink some beers and look over the lake.

The family stop here to get a bite to eat while we were driving the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway. We had a very tasty lunch & the service was really good. I recommend the BBQ brisket hoagie with fries. The wife had a really good chicken sandwich. Very nice bathrooms & just off the road.

My family and I visited the lake and rented a boat with motor. Their website states 30 dollars for four hours. I was charged 80 dollars and was told the website is wrong. Problem with that is all the prices must be wrong because a full day is 45 dollars. I was told I wouldn't be refunded but if we... More
