We just happened to book an overnight stay at the Geiser Grand Hotel in Baker City, OR on our way home for the West Coast. What a wonderful surprise it was for us and our dog, Berkeley! The room we stayed in was a "Grand Room," and it certainly was grand! It was quite large and had a chandelier. The... More

We love staying in olg hotels and the Geiser Grand does not disappoint. Krista, working the front desk was friendly and welcoming. The room was warm, spacious and comfortable. The hotel is something to behold and definitely a throwback to its mining boom town roots. I glad this wonderful treasure was saved and renovated, and not turned into a parking... More

I have stayed at the Baker Grand many times but haven't reviewed it in years. There have been a number of enhancements over the past year or two that I would like to comment on. The hotel has a beautiful lobby and restaurant. It also has a bar...great place for happy hour or a snack. They also have a gift... More

This hotel was a great find in the centre of Baker City. It is a beautiful old and rather grand hotel which has been extensively refurbished without losing any of its charm or character. We had a huge room with a lovely bathroom (TV/phone/iron/coffee/wifi). The furniture had a very Second Empire French feeling to it and was rather opulent. Very... More

My wife and I stayed 2 nights here and loved it. Frankly, we were concerned about the service from reviews we read, but we received nothing but excellent and professional service. We also ate at the restaurant in which the food was excellently prepared and fairly priced. We would gladly stay here again if we were in Baker City.

Pros: Open-access Wi-Fi Internet worked well. Cons: The marketing for this hotel is great but hard times and deferred maintenance are apparent when entering through dirty glass doors into a lobby with carpeting that hasn't been vacuumed in days. GUEST ROOM: Reserved room was not ready for check-in at 2:45 PM and I was up-sold to the "king view suite"... More

My family and I stayed here for one night. Front desk was polite and professional. The hotel is beautiful inside. Our suite was awesome. We ate dinner in the dining room and had a five star experience! The house appetizer is a must try. Polenta with a wild mushroom sauce. We explored the hotel and loved the artwork and old... More

We stayed only one night. The hotel is somewhat difficult to deal with, I made my reservation three days in advance and it was considered non refundable if I had to cancel. While I fully intended to stay there it is always a concern that something might change so I was surprised, most stays offer 24 hour cancellation policy. The... More

Arrived by bike in a group of 18. The staff was very efficient in getting us checked and all our gear, including bikes, upstairs to our rooms. The rooms were spacious with all the amenities we needed. Had dinner at Barley Browns. Ate breakfast at the hotel--the food was delicious, but overpriced for the quantity. No problems all checking out... More

A few years ago, we stopped at the Geiser to have dinner - it was fabulous - for example, sauteed mushrooms in marsala over grilled polenta (are we really in cowboy country!). This year on our way to the Oregon coast, we thought we give the Geiser's lodging a try. Wonderfully reasonable rates, impeccably clean bathroom, tall windows and a... More
