Puffed-up and pretentious, this place is NOT what it claims to be! Unless you have money to burn -- because they will nickel-and-dime you to death here -- RUN. You know the old cliché "all sizzle and no steak"? Well, if you were to peruse the Geiser Grand's website, you'd swear you were about to bite into a fillet mignon... more

We went to Baker City with extended family, planning to enjoy the historic district and this hotel. The stained glass ceiling is beautiful. However, historic district arrogance goes only so far, and it ends with not having hot water. I jumped in the shower and within two minutes, icy water was raining down on me! I called the front desk,... more

We spent two nights in the Geiser Grand hotel and enjoyed our stay there. The restoration work done on the hotel is fabulous. High ceilings, chandelier lighting, and a beautiful sitting area perched in a cupola over the main street, looking out towards the mountains, all made the room a fine retreat. There was a fairly comfortable couch, and Wi-Fi... more

This is one of the nicest hotels I've been to in all of Oregon! The staff is friendly, and the rooms are large and well-furnished. The rooms are quiet, too, and the restaurant is superb! more

We stayed in Baker City for several nights in July. Our first 3 nights were spent at the Geiser Grand. We enjoyed our nights at the Geiser Grand. We loved the old fixtures, chandaliers and woodwork. Our room and bathroom were very spacious. Everything was very clean. The a/c temperature was controlled in the room and was quiet. We had... more

OVERHYPED !!!!!!!!!!!!! the Geiser Grand Rip Off What are the owner's thinking? Paint up aan historic building, fill it full of Goodwill furnishings and pass it off to unsuspecting tourists as a "historic experience". Not us again...never, and hopefully not anyone that will heed our warning. I am not going to detail everything that is SO WRONG about this hotel... more

We only visited for one night on our way through Oregon, very historical hotel with amazing woodwork and architecture. Everything was neat and clean and the food for dinner was exceptional. There is also the original saloon located on the first floor which is worth a visit for a cocktail. Baker City has a great deal to see from what... more

This grand old hotel is just lovely. Yes, the carpets, furniture, bathrooms, etc. are not 'modern'--duh--because this hotel has been RESTORED to what it once was, not made over. Husband and I had a beautiful, large room, very comfy bed (2 queens, actually), tv, dvd (which we did not use), table, etc. We had no trouble closing the curtains. The... more

We stayed one night at this great historic hotel and town. We would have like to have stayed longer. Rooms were very large and very clean. Remember this is a historic hotel and if you expect modern you will be disappointed but it is a treat to stay in a hotel and town with so much history. Great dining room... more

Our visit over the Memorial Day weekend was awful in so many ways. First, the beds are thin, cheap mattresses that you can feel the springs through, the walls are paper thin so its extremely noisy, the pedestal sink in the bathroom wasn't even attached to the wall, there was only one mirror so only one person could get ready... more
