A great place for a stopover in Mcalester is the Candlewood Suites. I received a friendly greeting when I entered, got to spin the wheel for a gift, and was given the key card to my room quickly. The room was wonderful and had a exercise room to use after driving all day.

I stayed here one night and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and quite even though it is right off of the highway. The room had a very nice flat screen TV with a large selection of channels to watch. When I come back to McAlester I will stay here.

The Hotel is well located on US highway, it offers clean & comfortable lodging, huge selection of TV channels, and staff is very friendly and attentive to needs. While there try Marylin's Cafe, great stop for breakfast(open for dinner as well). Should my travels take me back to the area, this is a sure bet for lodging.
