I've stayed at the Carlisle Inn in Walnut Creek, Ohio for over 15 years. It is a beautiful facility. Each room is named with a brass tag and the decor supports the name. I prefer to stay on the third floor overlooking the valley. There's nothing like waking on a fall or winter's morn, looking out your window, and watching... More

My trips to Holmes County often are more spur of the moment rather than planned well in advance. Because of that I've never been able to get a room at the Carlisle Inn during the summer. This trip was to celebrate a friend's birthday at the end of November, which isn't high season. Our double queen room was very large,... More

Took a trip to Amish country, was a last minute trip so we got the last room available. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The only thing I wish it had was a hot tub and pool. The continental breakfast was mainly carbs. We upgraded to the buffet breakfast at the Der Dutchman Restaurant next door. The rooms are furnished... More

My wife and I stayed here in late October for a visit to Amish Country. We found the Inn comfortable and cozy for the region. First thing about Amish country, do not expect high end accommodations in any lodging; simply, it is a 'warm and cozy' environment, devoid of the grandiose accommodations travelers expect for major urban areas. You travel... More

My second stay at Carlisle Inn at Walnut Creek. This place is so comfortable and welcoming. The staff are friendly. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. The views out each window are amazing with fall colors outlining green pastures on rolling hills. The queen rooms are small and cozy with a nice balcony. Breakfast is tasty and more than just... Stayed the weekend of 9-26-14. This was the 5th time staying here. This stay was the busiest they have been since we have started coming to Holmes County with a couple of large groups staying at the Inn. The staff was great as always. We ended getting room service for the two nights we were there due to the Amish... More

Very nice Inn, we had the 'Honeymoon Suite' even though we are in our late 70's early 80's that sort of conjures up images of something better than what we experienced. Room was very comfortable, good view of Amish countryside, fresh air on balcony (but a few flies buzzing around, hey it is farm country), close to restaurants and shopping.... More

The inn is clean top to bottom. Bed was not too firm or soft. Nice sitting area in room and off lobby. Staff was friendly and helped with directions and suggestions on local tourist attractions and restaurants. Price was a tad high but this is the center of Amish tourist area. Negatives: Advertised evening refreshments were a cookie and a... More

While many of the hotels in the Amish country are tourist traps, at least this one provided quality accommodations. We had a queen single room with a balcony; it was of average size, had two Queen Anne style open arm chairs, had a tub/shower combination, and of course TV and phone. The mattress was firm, and the pillows were comfortable.... More

This Inn is an outstanding place to stay. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The Inn is very pleasing to the eye and very comfortable. The amenities are great. Popcorn and cookies in the evening and a wonderful continental breakfast in the morning. All in all a very pleasant stay.
