This place is awesome! It's a sweet family run hotel in the middle of downtown put in bay! It's about a block off of the main road so it takes thirty seconds to walk anywhere but if you want to I home early to pass out you can get away from the loud! Some of these other reviews that are... More

The old tv mounted on the wall was very surprising and hard to watch. The bathroom was so dark and not the cleanest. There was something spattered on the the top part of shower curtain which terrified me to think what it was. The pool and bars looked like they would be fun on at a busier time, but it... More

My husband and I took a spur of the moment trip to Put In Bay and booked a room here. On the ride out, I read many of the reviews on this site and prepared myself for the worst. Fortunately, we had a much better experience than others have depicted. Our room was clean and appeared to have been recently... More

My husband and I went to Put in Bay for the Historic races in August. We stayed at the Islander Inn for two nights. I was very disappointed in our room, which was in dire need of refurbishing. There were stains on the carpet, the television was old and had a terrible picture, the lampshade was stained and torn, etc.... More

I'm writing this review simply to inform others that the Islander Inn had bed bugs in our room. Where bed bugs live in one room, it is sure that all the rooms have them as they spread like wild fire. If you've already booked your room and intend on staying here still, check under your mattress and on the sheets... More

We stayed in the middle of the week, so the cost was only horrendous. It was dirty and damp. They charged twice as much for the weekend. DON'T DO IT! Stay in a nice hotel near Sandusky, and go out for the day. You will save $100s and have a better experience.

I went to this hotel with a large group of friends. I would NOT recommend this for a family or a couple that wants a quiet get away. The pool is public. There are a lot of bachelor and bachelorette parties on the weekends. It's a fantastic place for groups that want to visit, drink and have a good time... More

Upon arriving at the hotel we were promptly checked in. Everything was fine until we arrived to our room 396. Heading up to our room the hotel was extremely hot. Before entering our room we looked up and saw spiders and cowebs all over the lights and corners as if nobody had cleaned in a long time. As we proceeded... More

I read many of the reviews for Islander Inn and was surprised by the negative comments. It is definitely not a top hotel, however it was not a disappointment. When I arrived, the staff was friendly and prompt. I checked in much earlier than the normal time allowed and the staff made offers for getting me into a room before... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Islander Inn is Put-in-Bay's first and largest Caribbean style resort. We have 115 rooms surrounding 4 swimming pools including a large heated pool, conversation pool with a waterfall, 30 person jacuzzi as well as our swim-up-bar pool. The Islander Inn also features the island's original swim-up bar, The Dizzy Lizard. The Dizzy has 9 seats in the water and and seats on land. This is the bar that changed how afternoons were spent on Put in Bay. At the back of our courtyard sits Crash Landings, a bar with an airplane crashed into the top of it. Both of these are open from mid May through mid September, weather permitting. Located between the Islander Inn and our sister hotel, the Grand Islander, sits Put-in-Bay's #1 afternoon hotspot Splash! Splash is the World's Largest Swim-up Bar. We have 97 bar seats in the water and 120 chaise lounge chairs outside of the pool for sunbathing. With live entertainment on the weekends and plenty of other fun during the week, Splash is definitely the place to cool off and have a cold drink with your best friends. Overlooking Splash is The Flaming Skull. The Skull is a full scale pirate ship that sits next to Splash. Guests can walk up on the deck and watch out over the pool while having a drink at the 80 seat bar. Get your picture taken with the captain so your friends will believe you when you say you were on a pirate ship on Put-in-Bay. We are located right in the heart of downtown Put-in-Bay and are within walking distance to most of the major attractions. Should you want to explore the island a little more, we do have golf carts available for rent at our Front Desk with some of the lowest rates on the island. You can rent a cart for a couple hours or go all day if you want. ... more   less
