I called to check on the reviews here, told the supervisor, Angel, what it says here. She assured me that the negatives were not accurate. Boy was she right! We had a very nice room. The place was up to date, nice and clean, quiet. The elevator works about like any other 2-3 star hotel. The staff were friendly and... more

Portsmouth Ohio is a decaying town, so it's not surprising that its best (really, only) hotel located in the central part of town is also decaying. So, if I knew someone who absolutely HAD to stay in Portsmouth, Ohio, I would recommend this hotel. But, only because this is truly the best the town has to offer. The hotel is... more

I'm sure this facility was something a few decades back, but it's showing its age now. The room was adequate and everything worked, which I had feared otherwise when I peeked in the shower and saw the stopper assembly sitting in the tub. I wasn't there long enough to try the pool, although I did have dinner at the on-site... more

The shower did not work, stopper in the tub was also broken so the tub would not hold water, the toilet would run unless you took the top off the tank and adjusted the rubber stopper. Lights over the vanity were burned out, and cold air came through the heater when hot air was not comming through. All in All... more

Disappointing and bad. This place needs a lot of work. It's pretty rundown. We had 2 rooms and both were around the same-depressing. The wallpaper is coming off, puckered, looks like there's been some water damage. (both rooms) There's no baseboard anywhere to make it look even halfway decent. The fixtures in the bathroom are old, rust , grout missing... more

passing through on business and stayed because Damon's is attached to the facility. The building is old, the rooms are mostly olde fashioned but adequate. On a positive the bedspreads and pillows were brandnew and sorta classy. Overall the stay was okay but somewhat overpriced. more

We were in town to handle some family matters. We stayed first at another hotel and later moved to the Ramada. The pool, lobby and restaurant have all been remodeled and are lovely. We stayed in a newly remodeled suite and it is very nice. The veiw of the Ohio River and new bridge is terrific. Although our visit to... more

I stayed here for one night on business in the area. While I'm sure that at one time this hotel was probably the "Crown Jewel" of Portsmouth it has seen better days. The room was clean and comfortable but was circa 70's in decor. However for 70 bucks a night it will work. more

We stayed 5 nights in June, and it wasn't too bad, but I'll look for someplace else first. The room was clean, but the blankets had holes in them. The shower was good quality. The carpet was threadbare, and there was a bit of a smell that I couldn't quite pin down. Also, under the window the wall was just... more
