My wife and I were visiting the Conservatory for several days and feel fortunate to have met and stayed with Marsha and Doris, the inn keepers. The Cottage is beautifully updated with all of the conveniences of a modern home, yet it retains its incredibly beautiful, original architectural details. Our room on the top floor was quiet and air-conditioned when... More

I stayed at the beautiful Shurtleff Cottage recently for a weekend visit to Oberlin to accompany my daughter on her audition at the Conservatory and to see the campus. Host Marsha graciously waited up to welcome us very late after our delayed arrival and harrowing drive in winter weather, we were very impressed with the personal care! The Cottage is... More

This residence is a jewel. I was in town to lecture at the College and luckily my hosts put me up at the historic Shurtleff Cottage. Extremely comfortable and conveniently located only a short 3-block walk from the main square in Oberlin, the Allen Museum, the Conservatory, and many cafes and restaurants. The house has been meticulously restored and the... More

Our room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. The beds are comfortable and the owners are very hospitable. Oberlin College and downtown are only a couple of blocks away. Breakfast was delicious as well; juice, coffee, quiche, toast, bacon, scones, you name it! Book early as they fill up. We will never stay anywhere else in Oberlin!

Shurtleff Cottage is a comfortable and convient Bed and Breakfast. We enjoyed the spacious accomodations and extremly clean. The recent renovations have made the historic building a wonderful place to stay. Oberlin center is just a short walk from here.

This pristine, spacious inn is a bed and breakfast for people not willing to put up with shabbiness in the name of charm. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and immaculate. The public areas have also been lovingly restored. The in-town location is a 5-minute walk from "downtown" and the center of campus. In addition, the owner could not be... More

We felt so fortunate to have found the Shurtleff Cottage as our "home away from home" during the years our daughter attended Oberlin College's conservatory of music. The owners, daughter and mother, have painstakingly refurbished this historical home to its original glory, down to the latches and hardware on windows and doors. A light, continental breakfast is served in the... More

My 16 year old son and I stayed at Shurtleff Cottage while visiting my older son at Oberlin. The room on the 3rd floor was spacious with twin beds, a comfy reading chair and a large bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. The cottage has been lovingly restored by the owner with lovely antiques. The breakfasts were delicious, particularly the... More
