I stayed in ambarukmo hotel for four nights during lebaran holiday. My first impression is...The hotel has much improvement compared to the old ambarukmo. The design is very modern, very good cleanliness.. The staffs are also very helpful and friendly. But i dont really feel the taste of 'royal' atmosphere there in the design of the hotel.. It's just a... More

Stayed here on business trip for 4 nights during Ramadhan period. It was nice and pleasant stay at the hotel, but the one thing that will make me recommend this hotel is their excellent service although we've check out. I accidentaly left clothes on the hotel and just realized when I'm already in Jakarta. I called the hotel and they... More

In many ways, this is a wonderful hotel in Yogya, with a superb royal history. The staff are welcoming, professional, polite and helpful, doing all that they can to support the guests. The hotel has very good facilities and is well-placed near the Ambarrukmo Plaza, a convenient and glamorous shopping mall, which includes many shops. There are also some internal... More

Great hotel in Yogya. Spacious rooms, lovely staff and great surrounds. Pak Heru and his staff did more than asked for and made my stay a pleasure. Family friendly hotel with great facilities to make your stay very comfortable.

Stayed there for one night but the impression lasted longer than that. The lobby was so inviting. Airy, clean, and smelled so good. Checked-in was a breeze and I was given the 7th floor Deluxe Balcony Room, which felt modern, spacious, and so inviting. The history behind the hotel itself was interesting dated back to the 18th century land owned... More

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. First of all we noticed a great smell when we stepped into the hotel, we felt welcomed straight away. Check in was painless & the staff was very helpful. The room itself is clean, spacious & comfortable. Best of all was the breakfast, there were so many varieties of food, even after 3... More

Stayed here for a night on Deluxe Balcony room 726. The room itself is spacious and have lot of power plugs which is good for you gadget-freak, though you have to bring your own converter if your electronics not use Indonesian standard socket (German "Schuko" Type F). The bed is nice and I like the pillow so much. The view... More

The hotel has been refurbished but still has a pleasant feeling. Greeted with smile at the lobby and checked-in was swift with cold refreshing towel provided. The room expected to be as great as the service but very plain and minimalist, totally disappointing because it doesn't highlight the heritage of the building and very 4stars materials. However, the room kept... More

I recently stayed at the Royal Ambarrukmo in Yogyakarta for the first time. The building itself dates back to the 1960s and was refurbished several years ago. Unlike some of the newer hotels in the city - the Ambarrukmo feels more mature and established. The rooms are plain and functional, almost minimalist. The coffee shop seems to be empty most... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel, once Yogyakarta's grandest hotel, has been undergoing a great transformation to bring back the glamour of the past merged with 21st century technology that embraces both its historic heritage and the modern comforts. In addition to its historic grandeur, the hotel is also preferred due to its central location with the city’s largest shopping mall right on the doorstep and the hotel is an integral part of the heritage site of Royal Palace Residence. It is less than 10 minutes from Adisucipto International Airport, and most of Yogyakarta's must-see sites – the Prambanan Temple, Sultan Palace, Kotagede, Malioboro – are a short drive away. ... more   less
