Just visited Marietta and part of the fun was staying at this great old hotel. Not for those who who like all the bells and whistles--it's for those who appreciate a nicely-maintained historic property. Friendly staff, excellent food. Convenient to the waterfront and downtown Marietta. Great bar. Good value for the dollar. Wi-fi in room.

On a recent visit to beautiful Marietta, I stayed at the historic Lafayette Hotel. A favorite destination for many enjoying the city and river. The hotel is rumored to be a haunted - ghost hunter destination (apparently the third floor is where the action is). It's a beautiful building but with any old hotel that's been retrofitted for modern conveniences... More

Our stay at this hotel was nearly perfect. The rooms hallways and bathrooms were exceptionally clean. I usually wear slippers in the room when I feel that the floors are neglected but didn't find it necessary here. Our suite had a beautiful view of the rivers and we were a few steps away from the outside roof top which was... More

We stayed two nights at the Lafayette for our anniversary over the 4th of July weekend. I splurged to surprise my wife with a suite. The hotel and room were very nice and clean. The reason why I would not stay there again is that from the time we checked in until the time we checked out, we had three... More

Returned to the Lafayette for about the 10th time. As always, we love the old historic hotel. It doesn't have some of the amenities of the chains, but the charm of the place more than makes up for it. There for three nights, we received either a free traditional breakfast (eggs & bacon, sausage or ham) or $5.00 off anything... More

We love staying at this hotel for the River Front Roar. It is a very old historic hotel. Our room is always clean. We did have a hiccup this time with our smoke alarm battery beeping in the middle of the night and they did not have a 9 volt replacement. I was NOT happy about the wonderful beeping at... More

Very interesting historic hotel right on the Ohio River. The room we stayed in was huge. It had a very large living area with a TV, dining room, and a sleeper sofa. There was a separate bedroom with two queen beds, 1-1/2 baths and a very small kitchen area. The beds were comfortable, but the window air conditioner was quite... More

I used to live in Marietta and wanted to bring the grandsons to experience the Ohio River and the surrounding area. The hotel staff were always helpful and exceptional. A complementary delicious breakfast was served each morning. The bar was a beautiful place to talk and have a drink before retiring for the evening. It exudes character. Beautiful antiques and... Terrible food and service. There is an odor of mold as well. The kitchen staff was nice enough but appearance unclean. Mediocre to bad experience. I will never stay here again. Don't waste your good money on mediocre food and service.
