Took the mothers to Fitzpatricks Inn for Mother's Day. First impressions were good, & menu choice looked great. All our courses were edible except one. My entree which was Quail & A small salad was very presentable & tasty BUT it had a large moth contained within the salad. It may be a delicacy in some countries, but not what... More

Thanks for your honest review. I am glad you were happy with the first impression, menu choices and meals. I am extremely disappointed that the moth was found in your salad. That is not my usual standard and it is not acceptable to me. Mothers Day is a very hectic day when my staff and myself give up our time... More

On our recent trip around Tasmania we stayed in Westbury for one night as we left for the Mainland the next day. Our friendly host Diana where we stayed for the night (Elm Wood cottage), booked us for dinner at Fitzpatricks Inn. When we arrived, we found out, it was actually Pams day off, but lovely Pam volunteered and cooked... More

As we were catching the Devonport ferry the next morning, we decided to stay a little out of Devonport, at Westbury, a town with its own history and character. We stayed at Fitzpatrick's Inn and were delighted by its charm. The Inn itself has a fascinating history which I read about as I sat in the large garden, near our... More

Thank you Liz for your glowing review. I thoroughly enjoy sharing the history of this beautiful old inn with my guests. It is a pleasure to be able to add a surprise element to your holiday - one guest described it as a hidden treasure!!!! I look forward to your return as I am sure there will be more stories... More

After several days in Sydney, Westbury couldn't have been a greater contrast. Fitzpatrick's was a delight. The hostess Pam was helpful, friendly and informative. We enjoyed very good food and appreciated the lovely garden. Accommodation was clean and functional. It met our expectations. The property is fascinating and Pam full of interesting information on the previous owners. We couldn't have... More

We found Westbury and Fitzpatrick's just by chance whilst looking for a place to stay on our way through the region, and left utterly charmed by both the Inn and the town alike. Simple but comfortable and adequate accommodation attached to a fantastic historic main building, and very pleasant gardens. Dinner was spent with a small group of the locals... More

We went to the Arts Festival in Deloraine and the Steam World in Westbury and, while in Westbury, we noticed Fitzpatrick's Inn. We decided to stay for a few days to explore the local area, and thought we'd eat our dinners in pubs or whatever we found locally. Well, talk about stumbling on a five-carat diamond on the beach!!! Because... More

On a touring trip of Tassie, our first night was spent at Fitzpatrick's Inn. From the time we arrived Pam bent over backwards to make us feel very welcome. The wealth of history Pam has about her business kept us entertained for ages. Our meal in the restaurant was just out of this world. We stayed in Myra's Room which... More

This accommodation is an easy drive from Launceston Airport and is based in an old[1880s] building. We had a double room in the annexe behind the main building. The room itself is clean and nicely furnished but is quite small and looking a bit old and tired. There is a double bed, a small table with coffee making facilities, one... More

I turned up on my bike in the rain and Pam was very welcoming and friendly. It was mid winter so i had the place virtually to myself. The house is a beautiful old place and the rooms are very comfortable and spacious - the electric blanket was luxury! There is also a little 'pub' in the hotel which would... More
