Got upgraded to Federation House, very nice, comfortable and up to standard. Town doesn't have a bus or taxi so you can only walk or drive around to the Tavern. Weather wasn't good enough to walk so we drove with one designated driver, not what we want when on holiday. The Tavern was looked terrific as was the service but... More

We recently stayed two nights in a spa room at Strahan Village. Although our room had a lovely view of the water, we found it quite dated and the complex well due for refurbishment. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable and the pillows hard, which did not make for restful sleep. Our stay at Strahan Village was part of a... More

Strahan village is now owned by the RACT. Hope they keep up the standard! It was charming and we would have loved to spend a week instead of a long weekend! Do the cruise, do the play (we missed it), drive to Queenstown and do the train unless you are lucky and it is repaired and you can catch it... More

We had a comfortable stay but compared with other places we have stayed it was expensive and not nearly as nice. No wi fi in the rooms and also had to pay for internet in the reception area. There was a very strong musty smell in the reception area. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful apart from giving... More

We spent two nights in a harbor view room (I think it is called the Gordon wing?). The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Other reviews mention that the rooms are dated. I'm going to guess that the harbor view rooms were renovated or built later as our room was modern. Reception is modern but had a rank musty smell,... More

A very comfortable room for the night spoiled only by the regular drive-by beat box! On a cold day, the heater took 20-30 minutes to kick into action (good thing we're not from Queensland!) and some blood spots on the sheets were the only issues with what was an enjoyable stay. Had an excellent meal at Hamers Bar & Grill.

Stayed here for two nights with my Wife on a tour around tassie. Strahan village is situated right on the harbor, but extends up into the hill a fair bit. We just got the cheapest room available here as we were only for two nights. The room itself was situated right up the back of the complex, which was fine... More

We did a mini break to Tassie staying in Strahan & Table Cape. We'd not been back to Strahan since 2003 and always wanted to stay at Strahan Village and more importantly the little stone cottage (on the end). Room 1136, Sarah Cottage if anyone is interested. We'd read lots of reports, RACT have taken over pretty much all of... More

A large complex of different styles of accommodation. We stayed in one of the Terrace Waterfront rooms with fabulous views over Macquarie Harbour. The rooms are well appointed and the hotel is well located for touring. Excellent buffet breakfast.

great place to get away with family, friends or the getaway for the couple. Recommend doing the bonnet island cruise of an afternoon to see the penguins and abit of a history lesson. Set right on the waterfront Strahan Village is your ideal base for west coast explorations. The individual cottages and terraces take you back to a time when the wild West was inhabited by miners, piners, fishermen and their families.
