We stayed in a hilltop standard room at $170 per night as there was 3 in the group. For that $$$ I expected a view ( not of the car park) , nice room decor (it's very dated) , a flat screen TV ( as specified but no; an oldish tv which had poor reception) and on top of that... More

Stayed in Strahan for one night in January 2015 at Strahan village, had the room above the office where you book in, staff very friendly, room was nice with a spa bath, had a very large balcony that looked out over the main street and the river, it was very relaxing, strolled across the road for Dinner at night to... Thank you for taking the time to write. I so happy that you took the opportunity for the Gordon River Cruise, Sarah Island is one of my favourite places to visit and wonder how life might have been back in the day. Even tho it was raining on your day, it’s a reminder that this is the conditions in which... More

Stayed here for 2 nights to do the Gordon river cruise. We were located at the top of the hill, the room was nice and clean, old TV with no channels but we spent little time in the room so this didn't bother us. At check in the staff told us only 2 places to eat, I think these were... More

Thank you for taking the time to write. So glad to hear you did the Gordon river cruise. This has been so poplar lately that we have had to run two cruises a day. It is a shame that you passed on the buffet, for the quality and abundance of cuisine it is the best value in town. $53 includes... More

I stayed at Strahan Villiage January 24th and 25th 2015 with my husband and daughter, Check in was ok luckily our room was ready ( even though it was after 2.00pm ) others were waiting around very unhappy as theirs were not ready, After much navigation upstairs and downstairs numbers on rooms can only be seen if your room faces... Thank you for taking the time to write, I understand some of the points you have raised and agree that some of the facilities and amenities found in city hotels are not yet available in Strahan. The property was purchased for the RACT members from the Federal Group who unfortunately neglected to update the property. I am very proud of... More

We stayed in the hill top harbour view unit. Great location in relation to the harbour. Nice to have a balcony overlooking it all. Wouldn't want to stay for more than one night as there really isn't a lot to do. Would not recommend staying in the budget rooms at the rear of the property. They looked run down, tiny and... More

Thank you for taking the time to write. I personally love the hilltop harbour rooms and I am happy that we have plans for the bedding TV’s and colour scheme to be updated very shortly. We have many types of rooms to suit all budgets. The rooms at the top of the hill you referred to are our hill top... More

I was touring Tas. with my new partner with Strahan a must see destination. I'd stayed here before but the services provided just keep getting better and better. We were upgraded to an executive suite upon arrival due to our booked room not being immediately available, now that's service! The staff were courteous, professional and very friendly. The rooms overlooking... More

We were 5 blokes on motorbikes and being able to all stay in the same room was great. Clean comfy and central to harbour. We strolled up to the pub had a blast and walked 200m back to our room. No stress to check out in the morning made for a relaxing overnight stay.

It's an old building, the walls not have enough noise isolation, so practically you hear what your guest next door says. The room was clean but very, very basic in a 70's style, old TV says everything. The only good thing are the personal at the desk front that are very helpful. NEVER, EVER stay here again.

Thank you for taking the time to write. We have a selection of very different rooms within the village, some rooms are heritage listed and some are recent with views of the harbor. I am happy to say that the property is under way with upgrades to the rooms such as Flat screen TV’s, new beds, linen and also Wi-Fi... More

Booked a room for two persons at Strahan Village two and half months before our stay in January 2015. We requested a quiet room by e-mail to their reservation desk. Rooms are expensive during this season. Upon arrival, we were told that there was no quiet room available but that we could upgrade to a room where noise was minimal.... More

I am a 40+ year member of RACT so decided to try out their new Tourism investment that was purchased last year the Strahan Village Accommodation and Gordon River Cruise and unfortunately if the RACT was a listed company with shares I would be a concerned investor. We chose to stay on the esplanade in one of the white picket... More
