The Strahan Village brochures and website show quaint little cottages, with a white picket fence! We were booked into a hilltop room, and pictured us overlooking the harbour from one of those cottages. We were a bit disappointed when we found that our room was in an old grey, flat-top building that looked like a low-cost bunk house, with no... More

I had stayed at the Strahan Village motel some years ago and the experience was good. We booked again just thus week and nothing had really changed. It has a great location but was a bit run down. Whilst having a drink at the bar prior to dinner, we met the new manager John, who outlined the plans for the... More

These little cottages are picturesque! Very cute! Cosy, prime position, comfortable ensuite facilities. No kitchen but plenty of places to eat. There was very little for my partner and I in Strahan, but the seats on the front deck and some drinks from the local bar made for a relaxed evening. Wierd seeing the ship that never was, only walking... More

Thank you Lola for your comments. We are very pleased to hear that you had a great stay and took in a few sights of Strahan, especially enjoying beverages on the deck soaking up the sun and surroundings. We are in the process of fixing the wifi so this can be used throughout the whole Strahan Village. We look forward... More

Coming from the cute cottage at Cradle Mountain to this place proably heightened my disappointment but while we had half a small cottage that was were the charm ended. There were no cooking facilities beyond a toaster and a kettle. My lack of research was probably to blame but village suggested more to me. The location was excellent and price... More

I chose Sarah Cottage based on pictures and Tripadvisor reviews and I was so happy with my choice. It's a gorgeous little stone cottage perfectly positioned opposite the waterfront. The décor is lovely, the bed large and very warm and comfortable. A kitchen might have been useful, but no matter really as there are plenty of places to eat and... More

A lovely surprise to drive into the centre of the village, spotting a wood working gallery, old buildings, boats on the harbour and the charm of the Strahan Village accommodations. My sister and I had the downstairs room in the Federation Cottage, and while I was initially disappointed that it wasn't a cottage (expecting kitchen facilities) I got over it... More

Thank you Robyn for your lovely feedback. Yes Strahan is such a lovely little town, a bit of a drive to get here, but definitely worth it in the end. The cottages are lovely appointed but yes no kitchen but they do have a kettle and a toaster on offer. It was a pity you did not have an extra... More

We stayed two nights in this venue and it accommodated all of our requirements. The room itself was spacious and clean with better soundproofing than several venues that we have stayed in. The bathroom was large and contained a shower/bath combination with plenty of hot water an towels. The toilet was a little odd in that the flush button was... More

Location was great, but complex could so easily have delivered more. Don't say "cottage" when you actually mean motel room. A bedroom and bathroom does not equal cottage, if no kitchen is involved. So, so disappointed. Used laundry facilities - washing left wringing wet. Obvious grab for overuse of dryers. Drying cycle had no possibility of actually drying clothes. This... More

Thank you for taking the time to write to us, I do fear that people will never actually tell us there feelings and just simply never return. The Cottages, while cute and cosy do differ in size and are replicas of the original settlers and miners cottages, they are not sold or advertised as self-contained apartments. In regards to the... We stayed 2 nights in the white Federation cottage, upstairs, with the front balcony. There is another unit next door with a recessed balcony, but I think our balcony gave a better view of the picturesque harbour. The room was spotless, comfortable and spacious. The staff were very helpful on arrival with information of where to eat and of river... More

Stayed in cottage on main street, idyllic view, very clean room, convenient eateries nearby, all very nice, close to Gordon river cruises, across the street from waterfront and information centre, will stay again.
