Arrived & welcomed with door held open till last person & bag was inside. Tour & welcome in after-then sign in & shown rooms, then of course offered fresh baked goods and hot beverages. Ohh and check out upstairs. Charm, hospitality and welcoming warm feel here-of course the historic building & lovely rooms.. suggested to all.

Arriving to cake and tea in this beautiful old house was exactly what we felt like after the long drive to Strahan. Mike and Carolyn were incredibly warm and welcoming. We particularly appreciated that they had made a dinner reservation for us for dinner that night at their favourite restaurant which we also loved (there was no pressure to go,... More

Wonderful old house, very inviting. Excellent hosts (Mike and Carolyn), who were happy to help and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you for making us feel like family. Tim and Corinne

We had a wonderful 2 nights here. Beautiful house and friendly and informative hosts. Our room was large with a huge sep bathroom...and told on arrival 'loads of hot water so fill the 'claw footed' bath and enjoy!'...breakfast was amazing with homemade jams, fruit and croissants. Would highly recommend.

A rather spectacular house that is a very comfortable B&B. Mike welcomed us and showed us around, we were in Jessie suite for two nights. The house has a delightful collection of antique furniture and there is the tower with the historical collection of photographs/prints. This B&B typified our delightful experience of Tasmanian friendliness and hospitality. We will return.

Greeted by a very friendly host. Such a privilege to be able to share part of the house furnished with old world charm but providing modern convenience. Carolyn made us afternoon tea which went down well with a cuppa! Strahan is a beautiful part of Tasmania and well worth another visit with more time to spare. Definitely stay in Ormiston... More

We stayed here for one night on our trip around Tasmania. It's a characterful property on the coast, with a rather interesting museum in the turret... not to mention absolutely stuffed with antiques and gorgeous fireplaces. Carolyn made us feel right at home and was extremely knowledgeable about how to fill our last day on the way back to Devonport.... More

We spent one night in this historical house. It is furnished authentically and is set in beautiful gardens. A continental breakfast is included in the tariff plus muffins on arrival and departure. The house is located opposite the waterfront. A delightful stay in Strahan.

Carolyn is an extremely helpful and friendly host and the house is stupendous. Okay, Lonely Planet says, it is full with antiques but basically, the place is just full of old stuff. However, you actually feel like in good old England as it once was. The room we had, the FO Henry room, was quite dark, but then, you stay... More
