A rather spectacular house that is a very comfortable B&B. Mike welcomed us and showed us around, we were in Jessie suite for two nights. The house has a delightful collection of antique furniture and there is the tower with the historical collection of photographs/prints. This B&B typified our delightful experience of Tasmanian friendliness and hospitality. We will return.

Greeted by a very friendly host. Such a privilege to be able to share part of the house furnished with old world charm but providing modern convenience. Carolyn made us afternoon tea which went down well with a cuppa! Strahan is a beautiful part of Tasmania and well worth another visit with more time to spare. Definitely stay in Ormiston... More

We stayed here for one night on our trip around Tasmania. It's a characterful property on the coast, with a rather interesting museum in the turret... not to mention absolutely stuffed with antiques and gorgeous fireplaces. Carolyn made us feel right at home and was extremely knowledgeable about how to fill our last day on the way back to Devonport.... More

We spent one night in this historical house. It is furnished authentically and is set in beautiful gardens. A continental breakfast is included in the tariff plus muffins on arrival and departure. The house is located opposite the waterfront. A delightful stay in Strahan.

Carolyn is an extremely helpful and friendly host and the house is stupendous. Okay, Lonely Planet says, it is full with antiques but basically, the place is just full of old stuff. However, you actually feel like in good old England as it once was. The room we had, the FO Henry room, was quite dark, but then, you stay... More

Stayed here on my last trip to Tasmania when travelling with a group of 5. Arrived late in the day and we were delighted by a warm welcome from Carolyn and freshly baked muffins. The rooms were very comfortable and we appreciated a lovely soak in the old style bath tub after our drive. The house had a lovely old... More

We stayed two nights , in the Jessie room, which is a two bedroom apartment, didn't need the 2nd bedroom but it was the only room left and it was very spacious. The house has been very well maintained. Lots of history . Bed was comfortable and Continental breakfast consisted of freshly made croissants, toast and coffee, which was very... More

We stayed at Ormiston House for 3 nights & loved it! Carolyn was a wonderful host; attentive, thoughtful, caring & knowledgeable about the house's & local history. We had ' Christina' & it was simply gorgeous with views of the harbour & the pretty garden, which has the biggest magnolia tree I have ever seen! The house is just outside... More

We stayed in this Heritage House for 2 nights. We were heartily met by Carolyn who made us feel at home straight away. She showed us our room and brought us fresh muffins straight away. We had a lovely room with a tiny ensuite toilet and a Spa bath "open-plan" in the room but not in the way. The bed... More
