Fantastic experience, like stepping back in time to be the Strahan Harbour Master. Authentically preserved, comfortable and well appointed rooms. Yummy continental breakfast served in the beautifully restored dining room. Mike, the owner/operator was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the region, happy to provide tourist tips but also respectful of visitors' privacy. Nicely presented house history in loft.

A family of 4 stayed in the Jessie room and it was very cosy and comfortable. Carolyn is the perfect B&B host and is so helpful and enthusiastic. Our teenagers were initially a bit freaked out in staying in an 'old house' as they have been spoilt with hotels in the past. However they really enjoyed their stay. The breakfast... More

We arrived greeted with a friendly smile and amazing raspberry muffins. Beautiful old building and very cozy. Loved our stay in the Christina room including spa bath. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ormiston House. My son described our room as like sleeping in an antique shop. His stay was enhanced further by the dvd library, the muffins in the afternoon and the excellent free wifi. Will definitely come again.

We were definitely taken aback by the charm of this beautiful old house. The hostess Caroline greeted us warmly on arrival with freshly baked muffins and some great local info on where to eat and where to go. The house itself is very well maintained and the rooms generously sized and comfortable. It felt like we had fallen right into... More

We stayed two nights in the Christina room ("The Boudoir") in August 2014. The room was clean and comfortable and in a quiet location. The breakfast was ample and good quality. Hostess Caroline couldn't have been more helpful.

On arrival, we were taken for a tour around the historic house by owner Mike. It was built in 1899. We stayed in the "Christina Room" with a corner spa bath. It was the first room to see the early morning sun through the beautiful bay windows decorated with Laura Ashley curtains and a white brass bed. The reverse cycle... More

A big beautiful historic home, with welcoming hosts and super yummy muffins! We stayed in the FO Henry room, which is massive, has a beautiful 4 poster bed, and some pretty stunning water pressure. The room and the B & B has a relaxed feel, with everything you need effortlessly provided. Carolyn and Mike were great hosts and the breakfast... More
