From the moment we sighted this park we knew it wasn’t what we were looking forward to. First impressions count, the park & admin building were definitely not out to impress travellers at all. The front desk was dirty, the floor looked like a child had been eating lunch, dropped their sandwiches & had not been cleaned up after. Then we reached our cabin for a 2 night stay, if it had’ve been warmer I would have slept in the car. The front door mat should have been thrown out years ago, the smell when we entered was horrible, I wouldn’t sit on the couch & hated every minute of being inside that cabin. No fly screens which meant the door needed to be kept closed & windows couldn’t be opened. This cabin cost $165 a night should have been $50 tops, not sure how this park is…

The most difficult thing to contend with in this park were the bathrooms. There are no showers and toilet blocks as such. Unisex toilets and showers are in small buildings together as one room, scattered around the camp area making it very difficult if you just need to use the toilet, which obviously can be more often than needing a shower. Also the toilet paper is as thin as tissue paper, making you use 4 times as much. Bathrooms also are not cleaned daily which I have not found to be the case anywhere else.

HI Kamadei. Thank you for your review. I can assure you our blocks are serviced every day and twice per day in busy times. We have 20 caravan and motorhome sites and 18 RV sites (where guests are supposed to be self contained). We have 10 independent bathrooms and 3 additional toilets, which is a very high ratio. Your comments regards the consumables is noted and appreciated. Thankyou.

We had a 2 bedroom cottage at the back of the park and the smell inside that cabin was just awful, like fried fish I think. Even after burning a candle for hours didn't mask the smell. The carpet needs to be pulled up and the bathroom needs to be rid of mould and resealed.

This was a real letdown. The cabin was meant to be two bedrooms but was a queen bed in the main 'living/kitchen' room with bunk beds in a separate divided by the bathroom and toilet. It was cramped, doors opened into each other, the bunk bed mattresses were paper thin and we found dead ants on one of the beds. On top of that the free WiFi didn't reach our cabin. The whole property looked rundown and tired. I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Stayed here with my young family in a caravan, the spot we were given was quite small, pretty much just fit our caravan and car and the spot was a bit unlevel. The playground feels a bit more than 200m away when you have 2 little ones and have to walk there. The games like giant chess were never 'out' when we stayed. The amenities were great, good shower presser and very clean. The laundry is a public laundry, not really specific to the park.

Thankyou for your review. The Giant Chess has just been established, these games were probably not yet ready. We hope you were able to take advantage of our Games Room and treasure hunt and Platypus Walk. There was also Bike and Kayak hire and Sandboards for the Henty Dunes.

Very happy with cleanliness, room and kitchen.. Has everything that you'd need for a short or long stay... I found the reception a bit disgruntled if you've book through Big4 or Booking.com.. Didn't need to here the complaining regarding payment and refunds when I book in.. This doesn't reflect that the room was very clean and pleasant.. Maybe the receptionist needs more training..

The staff was awesome and friendly. It was OK as we were out alot but do think that that it needs a few things done. It's refirbed but It's really set for overnight than longer stays. The kitchen was very small and glad I didn't get more food. The fridge is really a hotel fridge than a stay a few days one. Quite tiny more a bar fridge. The fans didn't work and in wrong spot in kitchen and bathroom . The couch is tiny it could be bigger. Just fit the 2 of us tightly. As it was raining a lot the outside area wasn't used but looked great next to the creek. The stove cooked well. But really no prep area. The shower was great but a bigger vanity would fit better. The sliding door to the master bedroom didn't shut, just kept rolling back but was comfortable to sleep in. Needs a mat…

They need to remove carpet in the living room and just put Lino as the carpet smelt. There was also a sewage smell coming from outside. Could do with an update. Good location. Bad wifi signal. Nice plants around the park.

We booked our accommodation earlier in the year on the internet through a secondary service. Turned up on the day of the booking, everything was organised and ready for us to settle in,all easy and professionally done. We booked for 4 adults, thinking we get a room with 2 double beds. Got one double and a pullout sofa. We were not happy with that. The lovely manager said you should have spoken to us direct and these mistakes would not happen. She upgraded us to a queen bed upstairs a two single beds downstairs, shower and spar bath and toilet . No problem , no fuss and no extra cost to us. All we can say wow and a very, very big thank you. PS , this is my 60th birthday special trip to the forgotten part of our beautiful country Australia. Thanks for my birthday present.

Our family of 4 stayed for 2 nights in Strahan in a Classic park cabin. This cabin sleeps 4. I should have chosen a bigger cabin as this park has a range of accommodation options. Although it was comfortable, my big teenage boys probably would have been a little more comfortable had they had a lounge to sit on (there was just a small 2-seater) and slightly bigger bunks. The park itself is like being in a bush setting. Our cabin was near the creek, like many of the cabins. Some of the cabins have decks looking onto the creek (no direct access. It's very bushy) Most of the park accommodation is cabins, though there are some sites for vans and a few shared toilets. I knew that there was Molly's Takeaway at the park before booking. I didn't realise how fortunate that would be, as…

Thankyou for your review. Yes Strahan like many places has had trouble with catering staff. Some restaurants needed to close because of this. Hopefully this will now be ok for the coming season
