We were very happy to have found this accommodation just a short drive from the main township. We opted to stay in the lodge and had our own en suite. The guest lounge and breakfast area are shared with other guests which was a lovely way to meet fellow guests . Magnificent views of the Harbour and mountains. Older style... More

Stayed here with an elderly parent. On arrival no one home to greet us and show us our room. Keys were left but we felt uncomfortable entering someone else's home. Accommodation was very old and dated. Not very clean. Dust over mirrors. Furnishings were extremely old and dated. Needs a big upgrade to be competitive. Other accommodation available in the... We stayed in the semidetached cottage 2a. On opening that door were met with an overpowering smell of dampness and mould. The bathroom was even worse with a strong stale urine smell. We did not see anyone when checking in or out and were unable to register our concerns. We will never stay there again.

This is an old but nice B&B. After a long drive from Hobart, the cottage offers a good rest for us. A 5-minute drive will lead you to the centre of Strahan. Outside the cottage, it offers a splendid bay view as its name suggests. Another 2-hour drive can bring you to the famous Cradle Mountain for a day trip.... More

We wanted a self contained cottage but could only get beds in the guest house. We were very comfortable. The owners obviously live off site and leave your keys in a (recycled) envelope. They should warn their guests about this because it is a little off-putting. However, it sets the tone. Just an old friendly place where you make yourself... More

We where lucky to great a single nights accommodation at short notice, Key left for very late arrival. The room was large and hand the great old world charm. A very nice guests lounge with daily papers and normal coffee / tea facilities made it nice to relax after a long drive. The owners are very friendly and had breakfast... More

While the place did have a weirdly strange smell, my father reassured me that it was bevause the building was old. Sure, it was old and in one of our rooms the floor was on a slant, the rest was pretty spectacular. Just looking at the pictures you can see it is a nice, old styled cottage, so our family... More

What a wonderful view from out balcony overlooking the Strahan village and Macquarie harbour. The accommodation was good the rooms large and a sitting area and of course the balcony. Staff were helpful and very friendly. The meal options present a problem. Expensive buffet for dinner and breakfast or bar snacks. No meals as such. The problem appears to be... More

I spent two days here while on a motorbike trip around Tasmania and can highly recommend Strahan Wilderness Lodge. The B&B is a lovely old house with a beautiful view in a quiet spot just outside Strahan town, our room a clean, comfortable and quiet and the owners were great. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed in one of the wilderness cabins. Whilst the owners of the properties are lovely- I really felt the cabins were a bit outdated and stuffy to say the least. The hot water in the showers didn't last very long at all, which made for an uncomfortable night (due to the rain and cold). It is nice to wake... More
