No one in reception at 4.30pm in the afternoon, just a key in an envelope, not a good start. On entering semi detached cabin 2 in the old house, the smell was almost overwhelming, damp and mould seemed to be the source. Dishwasher doesn't work, no working cd player, beds smelled and extremely uncomfortable, not enough cutlery or crockery to... More

On entering our accommodation, my partner and i felt like we were back visiting Grandma's house. We stayed in the largest of the buildings and although a little dust and cobwebs were present, it still had a wonderful atmosphere and was very adequate for all our needs. A full sized kitchen, dining area, lounge room, bathroom and bedroom, made this... More

Stayed in cabin no 3, was a bit smelly on arrival, stayed 4 nights and it improved with some aerosol. Views and privacy are excellent, very quiet at night, cabin had all the facilities needed BUT has reached its 'use by date' Agree with another post - the deck is ready to quietly fall away- be careful!

The place is a bit run down. The cabin deck is small and needs repairs, railing would break if you leaned against it and it is a fair drop below into scrub. The peace and quiet is lovely and the view spectacular. The outdoor table tops are broken and not attached to bottom of table, out door chairs are plastic... More

I stayed at the wilderness Lodge and it suited me very well. I loved the private view over the water, the path through the dense scrub leading to little lookout. The facilities were clean and I had everything I needed~ comfy bed, window onto the garden, writing table... Host Brian served breakfast. The sign of a good lodging is surely... More

We had a lovely stay here, the decor is old, but with charm and character. The bathroom in our room was brand new and lovely. The room was very clean. Breakkie, simple and yum and spoilt with a lovely view. Great price. Thanks Brian!

The carpets, wallpaper, doors (and some door knobs) in the lodge are from a bygone era, but so is the good, old-fashioned hospitality shown by Brian. Some would say it is old, others would say it has character and charm. Given it is immaculately clean...we opted for the latter. The common dining and lounge area has a sunny aspect and... More

Good value for price, very clean, old furniture and lots of privacy. Good views. 5 minutes from the centre of Strahan. Every thing you need is provided. We stayed in 3a and it was obviously the largest of the cabins. Cabins set out apart so total privacy obtained

Stayed two nights in the main house, which is around 100 years old. Sure the furniture and decor was dated, but to be honest it reminded me of staying at my cousins farm. The place was clean, tidy and warm. The room was big and the bed comfortable. I think all in all, especially considering the price, that it was... More

What can one say, well, for us this was a wonderful experience. We stayed in Cabin 3A, see photos. For those who like nostalgia, this was like stepping back into the 70's WOW!!! it was great. Absolutely loved it. Everything that could possibly be needed was there right down to the candle on the dining table. The views from this... More
