This is an old but nice B&B. After a long drive from Hobart, the cottage offers a good rest for us. A 5-minute drive will lead you to the centre of Strahan. Outside the cottage, it offers a splendid bay view as its name suggests. Another 2-hour drive can bring you to the famous Cradle Mountain for a day trip.... More

We wanted a self contained cottage but could only get beds in the guest house. We were very comfortable. The owners obviously live off site and leave your keys in a (recycled) envelope. They should warn their guests about this because it is a little off-putting. However, it sets the tone. Just an old friendly place where you make yourself... More

We where lucky to great a single nights accommodation at short notice, Key left for very late arrival. The room was large and hand the great old world charm. A very nice guests lounge with daily papers and normal coffee / tea facilities made it nice to relax after a long drive. The owners are very friendly and had breakfast... More

While the place did have a weirdly strange smell, my father reassured me that it was bevause the building was old. Sure, it was old and in one of our rooms the floor was on a slant, the rest was pretty spectacular. Just looking at the pictures you can see it is a nice, old styled cottage, so our family... More

What a wonderful view from out balcony overlooking the Strahan village and Macquarie harbour. The accommodation was good the rooms large and a sitting area and of course the balcony. Staff were helpful and very friendly. The meal options present a problem. Expensive buffet for dinner and breakfast or bar snacks. No meals as such. The problem appears to be... More

I spent two days here while on a motorbike trip around Tasmania and can highly recommend Strahan Wilderness Lodge. The B&B is a lovely old house with a beautiful view in a quiet spot just outside Strahan town, our room a clean, comfortable and quiet and the owners were great. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed in one of the wilderness cabins. Whilst the owners of the properties are lovely- I really felt the cabins were a bit outdated and stuffy to say the least. The hot water in the showers didn't last very long at all, which made for an uncomfortable night (due to the rain and cold). It is nice to wake... More

We spent the two nights at the cottage without ever seeing the owners. We arrived at the time nominated to find a key and directions in an envelope on the door of the lodge. The cottage had a beautiful view, but the cottage itself was quite dated and stuffy.

Lovely old home. Rooms were clean, beds comfy and the manager made us feel at home. Breakfast was in a gorgeous old room overlooking the water. Such a pleasant stay. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who wants a peaceful, inexpensive holiday in a great location.

We stayed in the lodge in a family room. $170 for two nights so a bargain. Lovely people greeted us while we were there and supplied us with a lovely breakfast both mornings. We had the lodge to ourselves so we were lucky. Our twelve year old son made himself at home in front of the tv on the beanbag!... More
