We stayed in cottage number 2 for 3 nights in mid February. Annie was very welcoming on check in & explained where everything was. The cottages were only about a 1km walk to the centre of Strahan...even though they were on a roundabout, we didn't have any problem with road noise. Very clean, comfy beds, plenty of towels & generally... More

We found Anchor Down cottages very clean and comfortable, with some lovely homely touches. As it was close to Xmas there were also a few chrissy decorations in cottage :-) Max and Annie were wonderful hosts and we highly recommend for families. We stayed 7th December 2012. We will stay there again on our next visit :-)

Stayed for 1 night in September. The Cottages were comfortable and warm. Hosts were most welcoming and helpful. Happy to give advice on the local attractions. Walking distance to a cafe and the waters edge. Wifi included which is a bonus.

Super clean and comfortable accommodation. We arrived late one winter evening and the lovely owners had the heating already on in our unit for us. Our children enjoyed playing with the owners friendly dogs, who were quiet and wonderful with kids. Max & Annie went out of their way to make us comfortable. When they found out it was our... More

We had the unit suitable for disable people and it was excellent you couldn't ask for anything else. On arrival we got given milk which is only a little thing but a great touch after a long drive. If your looking for wheelchair friendly accommodation definately stay here.

Early in the day of a long standing reservation, when worried about our travel progress, we were told by Anchor Down that we 'were going to be charged for the room regardless',, and fair enough too, business is business. Well we pushed on intrepidly down an inappropriate road from Smithton to Strahan. Hours into the journey, and getting very tired... More
