Max is a great host (we did not have the chance to meet Annie); he is walking the talk of the "mission statement" he has created for his place (read it in the information leaflet available in the room). Thanks Max for your kindness, good humor and support in making our stay so enjoyable (although too short!). Our unit was... More

After checking the tariff of the property across the road from Anchor Down, we popped in to see Max, who offered us a spacious 2 bedroom unit for a very good price - enough to pay for a good night's sleep PLUS our dinner. The unit was very spacious, a little dark but very clean and tidy. Although slightly dated... More

We spent two nights here. Cottage was comfortable and roomy. Very easy to walk to the cruise ships via the bay. We were a little nervous to hear the radio blaring from an outside speaker near the laundry during the day but the volume was not intrusive and it was switched off around 6:00PM

We spent two very comfortable nights @ Anchor Down. Annie & Max are very welcoming & knowledgable about the area & beyond. Our cabin was roomy, comfy & clean. Annie & Max do not skimp on tea/coffee/sugar/milk. Towels are plentiful too & the shower had good pressure. Anchor Down is very family friendly with nice little touches about the gardens... More

We had our work Christmas Function weekend in Strahan and it was a fabulous weekend. The owners were welcoming, the rooms were spacious and clean, the location was good, 3 minutes walk down to the beach and jetty and 10 minutes walk to the town centre. Would stay here again! Highly Recommend!

Our to nights were very relaxing and the friendly owners were great, any questions we asked of Annie and Max were answered with enthusiasm and knowledge. This is a small holiday park with well laid out gardens, they are also interactive for children. Well equipped self contained units. Thanks to Max for putting us onto the best kept location for... great if you like a bit of a walk into town, 15 minutes either via water or main road. Water is only 3 minutes walk, great beach, ideal for picnic lunch or dinner. Bedrooms are a bit small, we had to leave our luggage n lounge. Kitchen and lounge are very generous. Very clean and well maintained. We had trouble... More

This is a small holiday park, not flashy, but it's pleasant, with well tended and nicely laid-out gardens and well appointed, clean units. However, as is often the case, it is the service that makes the difference. Our thanks to Max and Annie for their welcome, their assistance both with organising our activities, and for returning an item left behind.... More
