I spent two lovely nights at this gorgeous location. Needing a solitary weekend away I couldn't have asked for more; a beautifully appointed cabin right on the beach with stunning views and privacy. Great heating for the winter months, comfortable bed, well set out kitchen and bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. My favourite aspect may be the round window seat... More

Hi Sarah B, Thank you for your lovely review, written from the heart. I am so pleased that you were able to access the solitary environment you craved, and returned to work less stressed, than when you first arrived. This is a wonderful place to rejuvenate; just you, the sounds of the sea, the cries of the birds and the... More

The property is in an excellent location in a truly unique part of the world. We were fortunate with a weekend of great weather essentially in the middle of winter. Located close to Stanley was a bonus in terms of good coffee and cafes. The units are well thought out and planned with a stunning view across the inlet. We... More

Hi Oceanroad2013, Thank you for your kind review. Glad you enjoyed our superb location on West Inlet. We shall never loose the magnificent view, having about 2 km of private beach frontage to high watermark, which is pretty rare in Australia. The temperatures of the cabins are always checked, pre-arrival, winter and summer, to ensure a comfortable ambiance for guests;... More

We spent a relaxing four days here. Stanley is our favourite Tas town and both the town and Beachside Retreat are hidden gems. The location of Beachside Retreat is superb and the cabins are located on the sand dunes, and couldn't be any closer to the beach. Great views of the changing tides, skies and sunsets from the cabin. The... More

Hi DebM, Thank you for your lovely review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your recent stay and took advantage of our special Winter Retreat rate. The weather is constantly changing here, sometimes several times a day, which can be challenging at this time of year. The ecocabins are very snug and warm in Winter and were planned with every... Hi Louise, Thank you for your review, from a different perspective. We were very pleased you managed to fit in 2 days R and R away from your busy lives and actually found time to sit and read about our wonderful area and the unique wildlife. The property had all we needed and more and the view was amazing. We had a very relaxing stay and recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay at Stanley. The breakfast provisions were yum, especially the home made jam! :-)

We travelled to Tasmania to plan a 2 week holiday for a group of 15 couples driving old sports cars. We drove over 700kms the first day and 800 kms the third but in between had a 2 night 1 day stay at Beachside Retreat - what bliss. The weather was kind so we enjoyed the spa in the sand... More

Hi Kerry, Thank you for your review. You certainly were on a mission. I'm sure your old sports cars will travel at a more leisurely pace, later in the year. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the outside, heated spa in the dunes, over looking the beach and exploring the pretty town of Stanley; one of Tasmania's iconic villages. Glad to... More

Hi JessRobt, Thank you for your review. We are very pleased that you found your way here on the off-chance that we had availability on the day and were so impressed that you stayed three nights. We stayed in the Pelican cottage and found it to have everything we needed. Although we were not there in the red hot summer we did find a lot of heat comes in via the large windows, and the A/C was struggling to keep the place cool. But otherwise the place was fantastic. Bed very comfortable. The beach was very... More

Hi nikowgcf, Thank you for your long review. Fortunately with a cool maritime climate, north west Tasmania escapes the searing heat and high humidity of many mainland states, with a mean average summer temperature of 21 degrees C. The 4.5 kva inverter should have been sufficient to maintain a comfortable temperature. Glad you enjoyed the contemporary cabin, secluded beach and... More

We spent a week at the Beachside Retreat West Inlet and used it as our base to explore the west coast of Tassie. The worst part of the experience was having to leave. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Beachside Retreat is a luxurious, waterfront hideaway in north western Tasmania, where four contemporary, award-winning beach houses for couples, nestle in coastal vegetation on the dunes, overlooking a secluded, private beach. A recently refurbished, farmhouse-style, 3 B/R spa lodge, adjacent to the homestead and saltwater pools, is available for 5 adults or 4 adults/1 child, in 2 double bedrooms, one with an adjoining single room. Relax and unwind in complete privacy, on this secluded, waterfront cattle property, screened from the outside world, yet only 3km from the historic fishing village of Stanley with it's fine restaurants. Collect fresh, wild oysters for breakfast, walk barefoot on the deserted, sandy beach, fish or birdwatch in the inlet. At night, enjoy a dip in the heated, saltwater pool under a starlit sky, or relax in the spa with friends. Absolute magic! For horse riders, you may bring your horse on holiday too. Agistment paddocks are available and fresh farm produce in season. Owners, Chris and Janette, invite you to stay on their beachfront cattle property; an ideal getaway or romantic honeymoon destination.
