We stopped for a refreshment and went back for dinner. Great atmosphere with friendly locals and staff. Lovely timber everywhere. Dinner was spot on. We had duck pancakes and scallops for entrée with pork belly and beef cheek for main, yummy. Staff very attentive. Highly recommend.

During august 2014 I went to tall timbers to share a meal with my friends, I was asked to remove my hat which I did right away. I quickly noticed that other people in the bistro were also wearing beanies and hats, that was fine as I just assumed that they would also be asked to remove their hats and... More

Hi Jo B Thank you for the time to point out your issue when dining with Tall Timbers in the Kauri Bistro this month. I note that you have made comments in regards to being asked to remove your hat whilst in the Dining Room and you noted other patron still wearing hats within the dining room ... Please note... More

We recently stayed for 3 nights in a Lakeside Unit. Everything about our stay was fabulous. The unit was perfect for a family of 4. The meals were great, the pool was nice, clean and warm. We found everyone there most helpful and the housekeeping of our unit was immaculate! We could not find a fault in our stay.

Thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing. Great dam and little creeks with ducks who just love bread. Two bedroom apartments have bath and secure deck with patio that backs onto dam. Table with 6 chairs and long chaise and lounge. Great for kids and terrific view. Highly recommended.

I wanted to get off the beaten track, so I took the rental car into the wilder reaches of northwest Tasmania all the way to Marrawah full expecting to either rough it in a lodge or sleep in the backseat. After all, you can go miles only seeing hundreds of cows and zero humans in this part of the island.... More

We had three [3] nights facing onto the pond/dam and enjoying every minute. The unit [64] had every extra that you could want, even numerous ducks and other wild life to greet you each morning looking to be fed. Because of the great accommodation and facilities within the unit we chose to eat in the unit. The bar area was... More

What a lovely motel! Meals delicious and homely. Rooms comfortable and relaxing. Bottle shop on premises. Free wifi. Really a lovely place to stay. Did not use pool, but fellow travellers enjoyed it. A gem in Tassie.

Great base for exploring the north west. Clean and quiet. Great rates especially when you factor in the pool and other amenities. Location is perfect for exploring the north west of tasmania. Stanley is a bit too far from the west coast. Restaurant is excellent but slightly overpriced but overall it was great experience and would recommend to all, especially... More

This big complex seems to have it all. The rooms are a decent size, excellent bathrooms, lovely pool and grounds but the smell from the local abattoir drove us out after one night of a intended three night stay. The smell was not in the room but was outside. It is a real shame. I understand the abattoir had a... More
