We stopped in at the Man of Ross hotel yesterday for lunch on the way to Launceston. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had the shepherds pie and the Swiss chicken, both the meat and vegetables were cooked perfectly. The dining room had a great atmosphere with a log fire to make it warm and inviting. Would recommend... More

One of the friendliest pubs on the Midland Highway! Great hospitality, log fires and delicious meals! Consistent service and quality of dining experience! There is a lovely outdoor garden for use on warmer days! Well worth a visit for that much needed break during your journey!

Went in today to give 2nd chance. Staff were friendly.service was good and meal was tasty. I do think they stick to there 12 to 2 and 6 to 8 time frames so you'll be out of luck outside these times.....unless they keep some slices or small meals ready to go for the odd person who wants a late lunch... We stopped here on a trip to Launceston for lunch from Hobart. After walking around Ross, we decided to have lunch at the pub and were the only ones there (on a cold, winter weekday). We warmed up by the burning fire while we waited a very short time for our food - garlic bread, calamari and butter chicken. The... More

the new owners are so friendly. The atmosphere is spot on and the meals are exquisite. This pub has that good old country pub feel. All of the staff are happy to have you there. A great honeymoon spot.

A mate and I called in to this pub on a return trip from Launceston to Hobart. We initially planned to stop at a pub in Campbeltown but decided to keep going after seeing the state of the pub. It was a Saturday night and we were looking for a nice pub meal after a hard days work. It was... More

My husband and I were passing through the lovely town of Ross, we had accomodation at the Ross bakery, which was great, so we had dinner at man'o Ross hotel. It was great, new owners of only one week! Suzi and Scott, are just lovely, we had a good chat and it was great too meet them. We wish them... More

I arrived in Ross for the Australian yard dog championships, and stayed in my Ute the first night as I was travelling by the seat of my pants and hadn't booked ahead. (Not that it would have been a problem) I had a delicious meal and the new owners Suzie and Scott, who had only been in a week, were... More

I stayed at this charming old hotel with some mates while we competed in a sporting event at nearby Campbell Town. I had room 5 which was huge and had a main street frontage. The king size bed was comfy and the room was serviced daily. There was a TV room which had a kitchenette with a complementary continental breakfast... More

This was a lovely convict era hotel where we had a comfortable room with shared amenities. Our bed was very comfortable. Guests were made to feel very welcome. There was a comfortable dining and lounge room with plenty of facilities. The included continental breakfast was available in this room. The hotel provided free WiFi that was very speedy - much...
