There is usually one positive you can find from a bad hotel but here there was none, this hotel was nothing short of awful. we traveled around Tasmania staying at many hotels during our ten day holiday and must say this was the worst hotel we stayed at, in fact its the worst hotel we have stayed at in many... Accomodation was great with great views. Meal was nice and staff very friendly and accomodating! Value for $$. Bed was comfy and great utilisation of space. Dinner was a tad of a wait, but, they were busy so was happy enough. Excellent understanding of food allergies.

You can't miss this typical building on the way to port Arthur. The recommendations of the choices for my drinks could be better but maybe I did not make myself clear that I was not familiar with any of the Aussie drinks on offer. The food was allright. Sleep was excellent, cold, dark and quiet room with fresh air, enjoyed... More

This hotel is unique to the Peninsula both in style and substance. We stayed in a two bedroom cabin which although in need of a little upgrading was clean, comfortable and very well equipped if you wanted to be self contained. I highly recommend eating in the hotel which is an honest replica of an old English pub. The food... More

The outside was really cute & the view over the water was so nice. The staff were very friendly. The food was more quantity less quality. It was in a good location (near Port Arthur) and it had a bottleshop on site which came in handy! It was an ok stay.

It is a really nice place ... from the surface. But the room was tatty and there where many spiderwebs and also the fridge was nasty. The pillows didnt deserve the name - because they where as thin as a paper. It really needs some renovation. The restaurant has a really nice furniture, like an old pub. But only the... More

My wife and I stayed at The Fox and Hounds Inn on 31 January. We were part of an AAT King tour group, so we had no role in selecting this facility. Room 18 had one queen bed and included a minibar refrigerator, hot water kettle and a toaster – the latter apparently standard in this part of Tasmania. The... More

Lovely place to stay and the restaurant has nice meals, service isn't the best and no breakfast available in the dining area. The room we stayed at was very aged and you could hear the wind blowing through the door! Beautiful view looking out over the lake.

Terrible food, so many better options in the area. You would be better of getting a $10 fish and chip meal from a take away than the dry piece of fish and dry undressed cup of salad and the lousy handful of crap chips they want $30 for at this place. Can recommend port arthur lavender or the felons restaurant... More

This hotel has some very outdated, past its time, dark and dingy apartments that leave a lot to be desired. The equipment was poor, the kitchen very basic, the standard of furniture scruffy. Internet in the room is expensive because it is delivered through a third party and although free in the hotel itself is erratic and of low quality.... More
