Was attracted by the pictures on a brochure so went to have our dinner there. The lady who served us was impatient we thought maybe she was just busy. We waited for ages for our dinner to arrive while the two kids were getting upset. The food was a let down too there wasn't much to choose from. Regretted going.

Beautiful hotel with great views! We stayed here for 1 night only with my husband, but it was enough to get positive emotions and love this place. All premisses looks adorable inside and good and comfortable inside. Good price for what you get + view. Dinner was nice as well, I would definitely recommend smoked quail salad! Staff was very... My husband and I have just spent 3 nights at The Fox and Hound and loved it. The room was spacious, clean and beautiful view over the lake. We ate at the restaurant there for 2 nights and the food was lovely, the staff were very helpful and friendly, we thought the ambience and character of this hotel was great... More

I feel embarrassed that as a senior TripAdvisor contributor I did not check this place on TripAdvisor before we stopped. My fault! The $99 stand-by rate lured us in plus .... we had actually eaten here many years before and found it quite good. Firstly, the room was ok although, as mentioned by others, obvious things were lacking like cutlery... More

The fox and hound looked picture perfect on the brochure and on their website but it was far from good when we arrived. The look of the outside and inside of the hotel were up to expectations but thats where it ended. The room had a tiny heater not much bigger than a bathroom fan heater but with extremely high... My husband and I stayed here for one night, we had read the reviews and thought we would still give it a go. The hotel is old and in need of some refurbishments, the room was cold, heater did not work very well, no air conditioning in the room if you travel in summer. We were lucky that the chef... More

As part of a tour group, we stayed in this hotel and have to say it was a very disappointing experience. The external facade of the hotel gives the appearance of a well kept establishment, which quickly disappears as soon as the door to the room opened. just inside the door was dust and leaves blown in under the crack... Easily found on the main road leading up to Port Arthur 2.5 km from the main Port Arthur historic site. It is a motel type complex with a variety of room types and plenty of parking. There is a restaurant and bottle store onsite and breakfast is served in the mornings in the main building (which houses the restaurant). Probably... More

When we arrived at Fox and Hounds in we were really disapointed. The tour operator discribed a very nice motelroom with a view on the lake. When we got in and openen the curtains, we only saw an enormous plant. One of us had to sleep on a sleepingcouch with a very thin matrass. The room wasn't clean at all.... More
