The apartment was well appointed even though an older style of rental accommodation. Clean comfortable and well maintained. Parking at the door and being all on one level really a bonus for people with mobility issues. Bed was comfy, bathroom modern and kitchen area was convenient and easy to use for in house meals. Room was cleaned regularly and supplies... More

I have stayed in penguin twice now, and both times at the Penguin Holiday Apartments. Both times, I arrived after hours, which was fine. Spoke to the manager on the phone prior to let her know and the necessary details were easily exchanged over the phone. The rooms are spacious and very clean. She even remembered me from my first... We stayed in a room with 2x double beds, futon & kitchen with our children. It was clean and adequately comfortable. Amenities were within expectations for the price (everything else in Penguin is at least double the price and mostly aimed at more sophisticated folk). The lady there was polite & helpful but not on-site all the time - we... More

I'm rewriting this and trying to be more positive after the manageress commented that I was a "whinger" when I rated this as less than average the first time around. As far as I am concerned, this property meets my criteria for a good night's accommodation, but only just, and depending how you assess it. What should one expect of... More

Thank you for your amendment. I have to agree with you concerning the Train. Unfortunately, the rail line runs right through the middle of this usually quiet town & there is nothing we can do about it as the Govt. will certainly not redirect the line. However, after some campaigning we have managed to get them to refrain from blowing... More

We stayed two nights in these spacious units, they were reasonably well appointed and had laundry facilities available to guests. They are centrally placed in Penguin and easy walking distance to shops etc. Good value accommodation and facilities and friendly staff.

As address is on main road, not the quietest of hotels we've stayed at- probably compounded by fact there is a glass louvre window (although closed) above front door which lets in quite a bit of noise. If staying on a fri /sat night there is a pub across the road so be prepared for some noise from that (and... More

We had told our travel agent that we were having a holiday for our 30th wedding anniversary. When we entered our room there was a vase of flowers and a box of chocolates on the table with a card from the management wishing us a Happy Anniversary. What a nice thought! The room was very spacious with good cooking facilities... More

My room was quite big, very clean and well decorated, well equipped kitchen, but very hot as the windows don't open and the fan was noisy and too strong. There was hanging space for clothes, but no drawers. Staff were very helpful as I arrived early evening when the local shop was sold out of fresh foods, and she gave... More

We stayed here for a few nights, there is a not a lot of choice in Penguin as it's a small town but this place was fine. The room was spacious with two double beds (one may be queen) and a fold out couch. It wasn't warm enough for us, we found the heater inadequate but the electric blankets on... More

We booked this accommodation on the internet months before spending two days in Penguin for Christmas so too late to try something different. Large room with well equiped kitchen Expensive IGA grocery a few blocks down the street. Two double beds for three people - both beds very uncomfortable. Seemed we were really putting the owner out by showing up... More

Obviously by the time you booked this accommodation, there were none of our family units available, but you would have been informed of the sleeping arrangements in the room at time of booking. We do not take bookings over the internet, one has to talk to us for details, & these would have been explained & were obviously acceptable to... More
